I recently installed the Gearshade subwoofer box with a keys 500.1 amp. (I know, I know, sheesh, looks like someone threw up Kilmat all over the side of my bronco.)
My question is, since I ran a hot lead from the battery to the amplifier, Is there any reason why it would not be a good idea to also connect it to the 12v outlet in the cargo area? Could be nice having an always hot outlet for a fridge in the future?

Sounds like a good way to drain your battery and get stranded unless you plan on carrying a jumper pack/cables.

I don't think it's about killing the battery. It's more about lowering its voltage.

IIRC, once your battery drops below 11v, the Bronco won't be happy.

Using Forescan, the outlet in back can be changed to stay on for 24(?) hours.
I like an always hot outlet.

Does the plastic panel just pull off or is there a trick to it?

It pulls off but there’s a lot of interfering trim. A small bracket where the C pillar comes back, the cargo floor, the trim piece on top of the cargo floor, the spring loaded piece along the rear seats, and the piece going up the inside of the rear door sill.

Once you get there there’s a couple of bolts along the rear door and the latch for the soft top rear pop up. The inside has the wire harnesses for the 12v, the light, and an antenna back there. 5 interior clips along the panel that pop off like a button (part of the clip stays in the body panel, the snap button stays in a groove on the trim)

should be lots of videos if you look for the subwoofer replacement stuff
