Ford quality controls needs to clean the shit out of there eyes how are this things making it out with so many issues I was afraid of this they just rushing these things out the door to fill quota and could care less about the quality
A primary reason I decided to wait before ordering one

How long do you think you need to wait before issues are worked out?

I figure a year or two. Granted this is based upon the Ranger but its still a new build so I figured its best to wait and let them get all "kinks or bugs" worked out. It all depends on how patient you are ;)

If it's the plastic gap, I'd get some clear silicon and fill the gap around the mirror. I've seen vortex generators on side mirrors somewhere. Can't have laminar flow over holes and gaps without some noise.

The temporary mirror on my 2015 wrangler I use when the doors are off has red duck tape on it to prevent the same whistle on the edge at highway speeds.

I just test drove a four door BD with the medium package and the mirror whistle was pretty bad. The dealer wasn’t sure where it was coming from however, thanks to these forums, I put my hand over the front of the mirror and it stopped. The sales guy was eager to get the bronco over to their techs to see what they could do to permanently stop the whistle.

It was distractingly loud but I’m glad there’s probably an easy fix. I feel bad for people test driving these without knowing that’s an issue.

I've test driven 3 different vehicles so far. Only 1 whistled. But it's a pretty loud whistle.

Thanks Dave.

Sorry for your loss. We lost our two dogs in January this year. 15 and 14 years old.

thats tough. Can’t imagine losing more than 1.
The whistle should be fixed by filling that seam with some RTV. It that seems is where it’s coming from.

Why fill it with silicone just take it to the dealer and have it replaced under warranty

This seems to be an issue with the regular mirrors. Has anyone seen this happening on the mirrors with the cameras and lights?

I came to ask the same thing. Seems like the light may break up the surface near the edge there in such a way that the whistle could be mitigated?

Because replacing it with another one that does the same thing is a waste of time

Come to think of it, the only one that whistled didn't have those features I think. But I'll have to research to double check.
