The BL configuration IS a Sasquatch minus the tires, so offer those options (minus the disconnect to keep people interested in the BL), then its simply a matter of getting bigger tires.
That was a pretty hard concept to imagine!!!... /s
When I saw video of one of the engineers/developers,it explained a lot. This dude sees the world virtually through video games, where tech ridden offroad vehicles excel. They made the vehicle too smart for its own damn good.
They used soo much input from the Classic Bronco community, but missed the mark when it came time to put powertrains to the terrain.

The new manual transmission might not be rated to handle the power of the 2.7 engine. And could also require a stronger drivetrain. For example, the Jeep Wrangler JL comes standard with the heavier duty rear axle, when ordering the manual transmission. It's possible Ford didn't want the higher output 2.7 engine coupled to the manual trans, which also has granny gear to further the stress on the drivetrain.
The max input for the tranny is the same/ or VERY VERY close to the 2.7's torque output, so yes, the trans torque rating is too small for comfort. they'd warranty a lot of broken trannys.

When you consider the torque multipication of the transfer cases, I don't think the mostly minor differences of the trans gears is a factor. The best excuse Ihave heard thus far is the tech issues.

Regardless, i still find the idea baffeling and extremly frustrating, exculding the kickass crawler gear trans from your most offroad worthy package....I'm not even a Manual Trans purist!!!

Just steal the tremec manual transmission used for jay leno’s bronco restomod. That one can definitely tell handle the wimpy 2.7 L engine

Which is why I’m going bad lands with a 7 speed and swapping the tires.

As others said, money. Just look at Jeep sales, same group of buyers...whether it is door (more prefer 4) or transmissions (more prefer auto) a manufacturer will put its money where the money is. Plus every instance they build they have to have checked, inspected, approved by the Government. Who wants to build something 5% of the buyers will request and greater cost? Unless of course people are willing to pay like 5-6K to get a 2.3 Sasq? Doubt it though.
