Seems pretty clear if you know what a lower control arm is and where it is bolted to the frame. Crawl under and you will see.
Sure sure for US people in the know .. but pretend I'm like a moron ... you know for those other people not like me ... (okay it's me) ...

Based on the pictures I have a fairly good idea. I am guessing if your tabs aren't bent, you're in the clear?

Does seem like a spot that could get tatered easily with rocks and re-enforcing might not be a bad idea ...

If you bent them you’d likely feel your vehicle pulling hard or one of your tires wearing out in a peculiar manner

Got any teenage drivers in the family?
Adventurous curb jumping spouse
This. No one in my family ever knows how something got messed up or broken, yet it always happens after they were using the item, such a mystery. ;)

When I was 10 or 11, I was out riding my bike, truthfully I was jumping my bike  , Of course I bent the crank so when I returned home my father asked how the crank got bent.

My response................................................I don't know, I was just riding and ...... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Full grown adults still say that when trying to get warranty work done 😂

Same. When I was a kid I had a habit of breaking bike frames. So my dad spent more money than he normally would have been able to and bought me a Trek Mountain Track that had a lifetime frame and fork warranty. I'm literally JRA(Just riding along) one day and realized forks are all raked out because they're cracked. Like I definitely done some wheelies and maybe hopped a couple curves, but only had it two weeks and hadn't actually really jumped it yet.

Those people at the bike shop gave me and my mom the hardest time about it. Saying it's not really meant to be ridden hard just like on sidewalks and stuff. I'm like it's called a Mountain Track..?

Funny thing is once we finally got it back with replaced forks I noticed they actually said chromoly on the side, where the original Forks didn't say anything. Anyways like two years later I cracked the hell out of that frame, didn't even bother going back to Trek with it.

I was about 270 pounds (without riding gear) when hitting Kong and broke a carbon frame. Told them I was “JRA” but on the actual trail name and with my weight. They laughed and rather than the standard protocol of charging crash replacement costs they sent me a new frame and only asked that I sent the broken frame back as they’d never seen anyone break one before. Turns out the frame didn’t have any defects! Being honest actually saved me money. Nice how that worked out.

16 years old. A buddy and I got some pretty good air on Dad's 79 chevy. Needed a front end alignment the next week. Dad asked. I shrugged, mumbled, and shook my head. I know nothing.

So OP never posted pics? Would have liked to see the damage.
Well, it was only on fire roads (except for that complete offroad trail it did), so I'm sure there is nothing to see.

And installed. Not proud of these welds in any capacity. Doesn’t help that I don’t know shit about welding, but to compound the badness whilst laying on my side the sunlight coming through the mask acted as a mirror, so while trying to see what I’m working on all I see is my stupid confused face staring back at me 🤦🏼‍♂️

Does anyone else get super worried about welding on these new rigs and disconnect both battery terminals plus all the ECU connections then keep the ground as close as possible to the work? Might be overkill but I just don’t want to fry something

Curious...did you disassemble and pull the arm or try to slip a given bolt through the reinforcing plate, leave it unseated, weld/grind/paint and then pull everything tight. Just thinking about cooking the bushings if the arms were in place.

I assume you mig welded too, yes? The only better way to do it due to the high strength steel Ford uses would be to tig and minimize the heat affected zone. The key is to minimize excess heat but still obtain adequate fusion.

Pulled the arm for the exact reason you mentioned. Ran the bolt back in to keep alignment and used big clampy style vise grips to snug everything down. Used the old bolts and threw new ones in when we reinstalled the arms.

Did use mig, but more out of convenience and not knowing how to tig 🤷🏼‍♂️

TIG is super easy, find a TIG machine and try it sometime, it won't take long to get the hang of it. The lack of splatter alone makes it so worthwhile. It's way slower than MIG, but I love the control. Surprisingly, I found it easier to manage the heat affected zone with MIG if you have that as a goal.

I do have a teenage driver, but I dont think she would hide that from me. Now im gonna ask though
Aaaahhh, the daughter, maybe not. But the boyfriend... or even just a boy, friend that has seen a few too many TikToks or YouTube videos talked her into letting him drive, "just for a minute, I promise to be careful". Your Bronco has been airborne I bet!
