The 3.6L in the JK is identical to the 3.6L in the JL, and they both weigh about the same and have similar aerodynamics. A comparably equipped JK will have nearly identical acceleration figures.
I thought the JK were all 3.8 and JL were 3.6 but it appears not the case? What was the main difference between a JK and JL then? And yeah y'all said stock 5.0 but I said quicker than MY 5.0 in my OP. Also I may be mistaken but I thought Rubicon was mentioned which is why I said 4.10s.

Regardless, the Bronco if it comes with a 2.7 EcoBoost will be astronomically quicker than any Jeep Wrangler despite which mini van engine it has in it.

The JK had the 3.8 from 07-11 MY. The updates from the JK-JL is literally everything, it was basically a clean sheet. Major improvements though:

1. Completely revamped interior. Actually a nice place to be.

2. Completely new and stronger next-gen Dana axles.

3. new frame and body panels made from aluminum and magnesium for 200 pounds of weight savings.

4. Improved 3.6 with minor changes. (Oil passages etc)

5. 8 speed auto and new 6-speed manual.

etc. literally they worked through everything on the entire vehicle.

Oh no, I am not arguing about a modded 5.0L Fox, they are an excellent platform, I am strictly speaking show room stock compared to show room stock.
Understood, was just responding to the "embarrassing" comment, since for under 15 grand, you were running with or beating supercars of that era (straight line anyway) in the 80's.
(and the IROC's were not far off on handling either, even though the dashboards would literally start falling off @ 20K miles LOL!!)

Or you could, you know, drive around the rock ...
Brings up an interesting point I always thought was funny.
"I ran the blah blah trail with my minimal whatever" blah blah blah.

At SUPER slow speeds (talking lifelong causing permanent insomnia speeds, even when you aren't wheeling anymore),
stacking rocks, the easiest lines, skipping optional obstacles, winching 3 times.
So what!!!!

I love trails that you can't go around or even back up.

like this?

Yes, but I wonder if my 80 foot wide, 6200 lb POS would even fit at all.
I haven't been wheelin out west in 20 odd years. Think the trails were
generally easier then (as rigs were much less capable, avg tire size smaller,
less stickies, etc....)

How cool would it be to see a Bronco leading that line!?!
Yeah it would

Lmao at first I read that as, "less stickers". Made me chuckle.

Generally out west its more open, just more rocks and sand, midwest and up north we have more mud and trees. Different obstacles for sure. Both can be challenging for any rig.

I think you would be fine, my cousin took his crew cab longbed F350 through Cliff Hanger and even drug a busted YJ on 40s out with it. Most of the trails in Moab are pretty full-size friendly.
Well, might need to head back out there, test out the new trailer on a real long haul.......
