Amen. Iā€™ve also spent years in product development, and I know how difficult it is to take a product from a paper drawing to a physical product, so I tend to have respect for the people who do that successfully, which ADV has done with a good track record. Having spent years in product development, Iā€™m also incredibly weary of armchair experts and critics who presume they know better after giving the product a once-over when they have no serious consideration for any part of the process or constraints on materials, manufacturing, tooling, assembly, durability, cost, design, or usability, and ninety-nine times out of a hundred, any idea they have was already thought of, considered, tested, and vetoed months prior for being unfeasible or inferior for what was settled on for the final product.
Unfortunately itā€™s the world we live in. The people that actually do get flamed by the experts that donā€™t. I looked at the ford product, looked at what ADV was trying to do and compared against the track record. Most people donā€™t realize how incredibly hard it is to work with fiberglass and composites. Their is a reason Saturn stopped making cars with plastic body panels. Itā€™s hard, the QC is a nightmare. The fact that ADV can turn out a consistently good quarter and fender in FG won them my business. The one piece hardtop sealed the deal. Iā€™m looking for a foul weather option and have a soft top.

THE FORD BRONCO HARDTOP PROTOTYPE IS FINALLY HERE āš šŸšØ

Thank you for your continued support through out this process. We are so excited the hardtop prototype is finally finished and we hope you are thrilled with the results just like we are!

We took zero short cuts when manufacturing our hardtop and from the ground up it is completely different from the OEM hardtop. The endless long hours and sleepless nights to finish the Bronco hardtop prototype have paid off BIG TIME. We could not be happier with how well this hardtop came out.

From the incredible fit and finish, to the overall design, this hardtop checks every box that we wanted and then some! We brought together a lot of very experienced teams that worked perfectly together to bring this incredible product to life. Each and every one of us at ADV are proud of this and know you will be excited for it as well.

To reiterate our statement above, we can not thank you enough for your patience during this entire process! We had every intention to finish the prototype sooner but we wanted to ensure that we got it right the first time. We are excited to say that all current hardtops have started production.

We will continue to send updates periodically, but for now check out our Instagram
(@advfiberglass) for photos + videos of the hardtop and in-depth commonly asked hardtop questions in the highlights tab. Please review those and if you have any further questions, we are happy to answer them for you via forum, email, phone, instagram, etc.

@ADV Fiberglass

I was gonna buy one of these but to be honest you've turned me off with this drip feed release of content. It's just an annoying business practice.
I agree. From the beginning, I thought the whole thing is just a cluster f----. Overpromising and very little to show

They had to push the release date to spend more time on development, that isn't a clusterfuck, that's just a delay. The actual Bronco had plenty of them during its development and production, I've figured people might've gotten less sensitive to them by now.

LOL! This post ...

Ironically followed by this one...

Well that and the fact that Saturn's only have 5 different keys for their whole fleet is probably another reason

This is what I love about the internet and people now. ADV has offered to let anyone come to the shop and inspect and take pictures of the top and that isnā€™t hood enough. Then add to it the people complaining about the way they market it. My favorite comment is that someone decided not to buy the product because their marketing ā€œannoyedā€ them. Holy shit people need thicker skin.

finally I love all the armchair manufacturing pros and engineers with all their ā€œexpertiseā€ on building a top. Do you think ford motor company built multiple prototypes and tested themin all weather and conditions? If you do you are a MORON. If they had do you think the garbage they put out would have happened? The reality is a lot of component testing is done virtually now and through computer simulation. Especially on parts like a hard top. Iā€™ve worked in prototyping from the days of slide rule and clay models till Today with cad and virtual. I would almost bet that the majority of testing and prototyping has been don virtually and they probably cast different parts of the top for specific real world testing prior to an entire assembly. I will bet anyone on here this design will be better than fords because it wasnā€™t done in a vacuum and on a sliding cost scale.
I mean dude I plan on spending a shit ton of money you don't need to be mysterious. They have the content, just release it. I'm not here to play games and get "hyped'.

Sure I'll admit I don't know much about product development but they are literally on here posting about their product holding out information for months, intentionally. If you don't feel confident in one particular aspect just come out and admit it.

Edit: I'll also add that this is just my general feel about the situation and my opinion about it.

You're attacking the quality of their work based on nothing but presumption and then asking why they don't post here more often. Sounds like you answered your own question.
Please explain where I attacked the quality of their work? Perhaps you're unfamiliar with what Prototyping is?

Prototyping is where you make the first product of any given design, in this case a molded fiberglass product. In EVERY new product, especially a molded one, there will be issues to be resolved, lay-up thickness, bubbling, surface irregularities, fit, finish, etc., that is why you build Prototypes.

Presumption, hardly, I've spent decades in product development, EVERY Prototype requires rework and sometimes a second, third, or more Prototypes to be built, until the design is mature enough to go into production. This is why schedules slip and deliveries are delayed, that is a simple fact of Product Development.

People need to simply be able to calm down and give their opinion without being rude or turning off companies investing in our platform away.

Simply put, there aren't really any other companies working on giving us quality solutions for a hardtop.

They're had their doors open to us, and some people (or all) do not agree with how they've been giving us information, we should give them the chance.

I think they heard loud and clear that we want more info on the forums and their website.

I'm for one grateful for their efforts and look forward to seeing them come out with a quality product.

The angle of the C/D pillar (2 vs 4 door) is awesomeā€¦wish Ford included that design elementā€¦.itā€™s pretty iconic to a classic Bronco. Seriously, no 2 door option?!

it blows my mind that after ten pages and i guess a year of getting nothing out of this company, somebody is having to drive out to them to take the photos and do the job they should have done in the first place. what a tone deaf company. fwiw i found someone local up here who was willing to sell me their hard top yesterday so i'm rolling happy, and so glad i didn't trust these hosers with a preorder

Its simple economics-two doors already come with hardtops so there is going to be almost no demand for a product like this. Maybe in 5-8 years from now when people buy them second hand or if the OEM tops don't hold up well (hopefully not)
