I have been waiting for my Bronco for so long(almost 2 years), that I am probably going to buy with cash. I have never done this before, but not wanting to even have these conversations with my dealer yet until I have an out the door price. He seems extremely cool and had great deal for buying Bronco at invoice pricing when I ordered 2 years ago and just hoping nothing has changed.

Can anyone who bought their Bronco with cash give some recommendations? Right now the plan is to drive over there with other car, figure out price, drive to bank and get a cashier's check from money in checking account, drive home, and then get a ride or uber over there to pick up Bronco. If there is another method where you can typically wire money to them directly from your checking account, etc. let me know. Have never bought a car with cash and just clueless.

Part of the reason I am posting all this is just in case is shows up right before Memorial Day weekend as it just went into in transit.

Thanks,

Dan
Fill a briefcase with small bills, attach a handcuff to the handle, attach the other cuff to your wrist, put on a pair of dark sunglasses, and slink your way into the dealership. Lay down a surreptitious "psst" toward the first associate to walk past you. When they stop and look your way, open the briefcase, allow them a quick look at the cash, and tell them you're there to make a deal.

Paid cash for mine. Wrote a personal check. Finance guy looked depressed. Half heartedly mentioned warranty. I asked him if he could match internet pricing for Ford ESP. He gave up. I thought it was funny as hell. Wonder how much money the dealer's have lost due to the long wait and people having big down payment or cash sale.

There is no limit to how much someone else pays or how much the lean holder pays (for that matter). The dealer dosnt care where the money is coming from, as long as it's going to them. If they wanted to put down $30k (via cash or check or whatever) they can. You would be responsible for the remaining balance as the finance. If they wanted to pay it all off, they can also.
Thanks. Good to know. I appreciate it.

Call the sales manager. Ask him to email you the all in price along with the wiring instructions. Bronco prices are very straightforward when you have no trade, no financing, no additional warranty, no ADM - there really is no need to set foot inside a dealership. Your bank will walk you through how to end a wire - takes about a minute. You can Docusign or scan any documents that need your signature. Have them deliver the vehicle to your house.

Every business prefers a wire.

Declined everything in the finance manager’s office, wrote a check for MSRP+tax, tag, and title, drove home.

Do not tell your salesman any of your intentions until you are standing in front of him and the vehicle you are buying and it has been personally inspected by you and you are satisfied.😎

Personal or cashier's check, have it filled out when you get there. They'll be less likely to pull shenanigans.

My sales guy gave me the number a day early. I reviewed it, all good, got check. Showed up for delivery and the finance guy had a different number, math error, but go in knowing what's right

Ditto for me too. I got a ride from my neighbor to get to the dealership 25 miles away. Personal check, easy peasy and I was on my way. The parts manager, who is a friend, was crowing to everyone about all the accessories I was going to buy from him. Heck of the deal, he was right!

That is not true. I put down as much as I could on my credit card (to get the points) and the limit was $3k on the credit card no fee. So I did $3k on my credit card and the rest from my debit card for my down payment. If you are spending the money, regardless, you might as well get points from it.
How is what I wrote not true? I noted that a dealer would take a certain amount via credit card without charging a fee. A fact that you then confirmed with your post. I have not seen anyone chime in that their dealer let the use a credit card for the total purchase price of a Bronco.

Any merchant that takes credit cards pays a processing fee whenever anyone uses a credit card in their establishment. Usually, that fee is between 1-3% of the amount charged. No way any dealer wants to lose 2% on a $50k transaction. Not gonna happen.

My dealer doesn't take personal checks. I'd check ahead of time.

Is it not a good idea to get the extended warranty or maintenance plan. I am paying cash as well but I want piece of mind since this will be my first vehicle purchased that I plan on keeping for 5+ years.

Forgot about the shady looking "bodyguard" who is obviously armed. Otherwise, spot on...

Thanks! That’s very helpful. I have no clue what my in-laws are hoping to contribute but I’m extremely grateful. I guess the next thing I’ll need to learn is if there’s a limit.
There is no limit, as long as the parents are not co signers you are the titled buyer.

As long as you don't buy the Bronco on craigslist, cash is king!
