There’s a chance that the Ford engineers said “ya know, it was a lot of work to change the settings for the optional transmissions and the optional differential gearing. Why bother doing it again with the low range ratio? It’s fine”

Maybe that's the real reason why they disable traction control in 4Lo! We can only hope.

I really don't think any of the software is going to know or care, 4lo is still mostly ignored by all the programming as it doesn't do much of anything at the speeds involved, and it will just keep on trucking along doing it's thing.
I think the things that will be affected by not having the ratio right will be; The Speedometer, Hill Descent, One pedal, and Trail Turn Assist, but I'd expect the effects to be negligible and everything to still work without any alarms.
I do but I am currently traveling, I won't be back until 20 April or so to get a copy out. Just landed in Manila again.

Well this is a bummer the two transfer cases don't operate exactly the same and the control wires are different. Obviously This only affects people that are doing swaps like myself but right now it is definitely an issue for my 5.2 swap as I'm using the Everest case. I see several options available obviously I could try using the F-150 all-wheel drive control module, and that's probably what I'll do. It may be possible to change some lines on for scan but I doubt it as this is more likely a configuration issue.There are only 4 pages using that VIN.
Just spitballing some ideas. I would actually have to sit down and think this through.
This doesn't mean that the two different awd modules can't be used for the same vehicle.
It very much depends on the CAN messages to each AWD module. Also, it could be possible to use the Bronco AWD (or F-150) to control the transfer case from the Everest, but that would require you to figure out the controls somewhat with regards to the position sensors. You may only need some of the outputs from the t-case to achieve the desired operation with the Bronco AWD (or F-150) module.
Naturally, Ford won't provide the level of information needed to actually make this easy. The first order of business is to understand the inputs and the outputs of each of these transfer cases. I am not sure I fully understand everything looking at the schematics with my jetlagged brain.
