Huge PITA today at the dealer. Bronco finally arrived, but after 2 hours of negotiating and explaining the flowchart here my dealer would not budge.

They're going 100% off what's in smartVincent and nothing else, so I'm out $2,500 from original order.
I honestly can't believe how bad ford screwed this whole price protection up - just put everything in the same damn place. I ordered February 2022, show that. The price protection vs private offer/rebate bull just adds confusion and screws the customer over.
End of the day they know they can sell this for $5k+ over what I paid, so there's no motivation to cut me anything extra.

Update: at dealer today they will not offset the price increases since reorder on 1/20 they will give me both the private offer and the order modification…so the order mod $2500 is basically wiped out :(
Same story here man. I got the private offer off sales price, but the $2,500 from my original order is put on me.

Leaves a terrible taste in my mouth honestly.

Ugh… so dumb. 😞

The most frustrating part for me is retail price protection is NOT new… it’s been around for as long as I can remember—at least since the mid/late-2000s if not earlier.

The part I would expect dealers to screw up is the private offers—that part of it is new. But they screw up the part that has been around forever?! I just…. ugh. Tells me they’ve been screwing over people who have place retail orders for the better part of the past 2-3 decades.

The only thing I can think of is these dealers in the past had no customers place a retail orders, and all of their sales in the past were for stock vehicles on the lot. I find that very hard to believe, because of the past 5 vehicles I’ve bought, only one of them was a stock vehicle… the other 4 I retailed ordered. BUT maybe I’m the weird one, and most people pre-pandemic bought vehicles on the lot. 🤷‍♂️

Anyone successfully used both the transition private offer and the modification/cancellation $2500 offer?

From my sales reps who has with my Jan Raptor order that is scheduled for May build date:
"I have triple confirmed with both the GSM and GM of the store that there is no price protection on Bronco Raptors."

In addition to the EFC12360 doc above, is there some dealer support contact at Ford that they can reach out to be get answers on it's applicability to the Raptors?

My dealer with my outstanding Bronco Raptor order has now stopped being wishy washy on price protection and instead made a statement of "I have triple confirmed with both the GSM and GM of the store that there is no price protection on Bronco Raptors."

Besides the above docs, to which the dealer is seeming to say the price protection info was not applicable to the Bronco Raptor price increase, is there a contact person or department (dealer support rep?) I can refer them to at Ford to set them straight on the retail price protection applying to the Bronco Raptor?

Bronco Raptor and Heritage Limited are both limited production vehicles, and at many dealers they are being sold above MSRP. Neither of those trims are eligible for model year transition private offers. So unless you have a signed pricing agreement with your dealer locking you into a specific price, the can charge whatever they want.

The retail price protection hasn't changed in decades. 40+ years maybe? Ford re-invoices based on the invoice price at time of order.

I doubt your dealer is actually stupid enough to not know that.

Understood, I wasn't looking for the MY transition offer but rather details on the retail price protection. My order was placed in Jan '23 in my name. I have a signed "Preview Order" showing $78810 total price and emails agreeing to selling price being $10k over that. Dealer says that if Ford did offer price protection then they'd pass it along, but they state that Ford offer no form of price protection on Bronco Raptors. I've seen posts on here (just can't recall which threads) that indicate that retail price protection is automatic once the purchase is completed in the name of the person on the order, even for Bronco Raptors, and that dealers will be credited back by Ford to reduce their cost.

I realize not all dealers pass this through to buyer. I can't tell if this dealer is doing that or is just honestly uninformed about the automatic process from Ford on the Raptors.

Sounds more like games than uniformed. Every dealer has the info. It's not a big secret program.

You should get all 3 of these. And yes they are automatic. Whether the dealer refunds it up front or after the sale is up to them though. In your case it is $10,000.

2/10 Increase
3/20 Increase
4/10 Increase

Here was a guy that did get his recently as he was supposed to.

Ah gotcha... yeah... sounds like they are just misinformed. They can talk to their Sales and Inventory Specialist at Ford and they will (or should) fill them in.

I suspect there is a good chance that the Ford employee themselves won't be sure about it because so many of the Ford Performance vehicles are selling well over MSRP at this point, but no harm in trying.

I'm a little late in this topic. Trying to read 44 pages on this thread, so sorry if a little redundant.
Seems like not everyone got their Retail Price Protection or Dealer's didn't honor them, is that right?
I am eligible for the Model year transition after calling Ford and got my certificate. Just arming myself before talking to my dealer.

Thanks for writing this up @RagnarKon! Very helpful and to all you guys on this Forum.

I just got off the phone marketing in a attempt to obtain my certificate number for the 22-23 model year transition. The representative could not find any private offer for me. My plan was have this in hand when my bronco arrives at the dealer in a couple of weeks. Any advice on finding my private offer certificate number would be greatly appreciated.

If you moved at some point or your original order was under a different name, then the certificate may be under the old information. They can also look up the certificate by email address and I believe phone number as well. If that's the case for you, you can always call back and provide them the old/different information to see if they can find it.

If not, really your only option is to have your dealer track it down with the help of their Ford Inventory Specialist. Ford's Customer Service reps won't have the necessary information (or the capability) to generate it for you.
