Just get Highway Radar with wzSabre plugin. It will alert you to aircraft in the air in your vicinity. It has real time reports on speed traps which are useful for cops using laser, which requires very expensive counter measures that few are willing to spend on.

Cool app - I guess it depends on how densely this app is used in a given area.

The Bronco *almost* has T-Tops :ROFLMAO:.

Also, when I saw the thread title I'm like "why you need a radar detector in a Bronco?"
Then I realized that my Broncos comfort speed on the highway is 83
That's not going to get you a ticket in most of Utah. Urban speed limits are 70, rural are 80. :)

My last ticket was clocked via aircraft.....now whenever I see the aircraft markings on the local highway I get uneasy/slow down
I'll bet you regret not getting the AA option package! When combined with Lux, it automatically tracks enemy aircraft. Then you only have to activate the Aux1 switch to destroy! 💀

My tool of choice is Waze. Crowd-sourced detection built into a nav app. Not that speed in the Bronco is an issue out here. The wind noise tells me when I'm going too fast. Oh, and the rapidly declining fuel gauge.

i use an old escort that never really worked in my challenger, wouldn't connect to GPS in that car for some reason. it's good for the back roads where the speed limits are like 30 and it's super easy to cruise at like 45, most of the local cops just park and blaze k band or ka band all the while so picking them up is easy. highways they all use lidar around here so the detectors are useless, waze seems to work the best there

I use Apple Maps with Car Play. I get crowd sourced alerts when away from town.

I had a Valentine One for my Subaru, then upgraded to a Valentine Gen2. I use Valentine's ODBII connection, the remote display and a mirror mount. My foot isn't as heavy with the Bronco, so the Valentine is staying in the Subaru. I do like watching the location arrows and bogey counter though.

The JBV1 app that pairs with the Valentine One pulls realtime locations of road policing aircraft to warn you if they are actively operating in the area where you’re driving! Exciting stuff! Though I don’t know why. I’m usually 5 mph under the speed limit.

If I were going to use that connector, I’d chop off the USB component, solder the remaining wires to an RJ11 power cord, and apply heat shrink insulation to make it look nice.
That's what I did. And it does look nice.

And this is why you use JBV1 with your Valentine 1. It detect air to ground threats. I remain undefeated in 97,000 miles of Bronco driving with the Valentine 1 and JBV1. It's like having a tactical electronic warfare warning system in your car. It pulls from Waze and other crowd sourced alerts. It also will provide weather radar overlays, which can be particularly useful in avoiding unpleasantness.

JBV1 is awesome on Android. I have an old cellphone with no SIM card that I use for JBV1 (I use the Bronco Hotspot to provide the Internet connection for crowd source alerts and PAWS data).

Running in standalone mode the only thing you will miss out on is the radar detector muting and detector alerts, everything else will work.

I used to run it standalone when I was waiting for the detector, it's still pretty helpful.
