Current bumper and stock tire location only allows for up to 37 in size. Would need a swing out mount or something else to make it work.

Yeah, that back gate and hinges are not made for that much weight, especially off road. As soon as LOD has their swing out bumper completed I'll be getting my spare off the back gate too.

That makes sense. What happens if you tear a sidewall or something on a trail though? Is one more inch in tire size worth not being able to take a spare along? I’m not knocking you here, just want to understand

This rig sees only mild trails, here in FL is mostly mud. I have a trail dedicated rig with a full 40 inch spare.
