Was there a "mid-year price increase" since February 9, 2023?

just picked up a base 2-door at sticker, it was built 2/8, prior to the latest increase. Same build today is $2,445 more expensive.

I talked to my dealer again about the price protection for 9/10. I said Ford said he would "have to apply it" and said I hope he knows about all that because I can't do it. He said (quoted):

"We can submit your name for the PP of course, and if Ford approves the PP, then we apply it. It's not something that automatically happens to your pricing based on a tick-mark we include in the deal."

That just seems strange to me. Why would a dealer not automatically apply everyone's price protection? We are talking about saving customers thousands of dollars, and that would make for a much happier customer, I would imagine.

Of course, I asked him to apply mine. Seems really bizarre to me.
