4.46 with a 35” has weaker acceleration with more top end. 4.7 with a 35 Has better acceleration but less top end. This is extremely minimal compared to a traditional 3:73 vs 4:10 ratio gap.…if your running a 4.46 you will use more gas than a 4.7 (with the same transmission). In my mind it’s how heavy Your foot is
This makes sense.

This makes sense.
These 10 speeds and the 7 speeds are geared to have the same power bands, the Benefit of the 7spds are the granny gear. The ten speed will never be able to get that low,

I so wish FORD sourced/produced a transmission with ZF and be done with it. And behind more than a 2.3!

2.7 AT running 87 octane
17.5MPG on the highway about 15MPG in the city with a lot of frequent stops.

No noticeable difference in MPG when running 91 octane.
stock truck produces minimal gains, intake, exhaust anything bolt on doesn’t make the truck require Higher octane. When you increase boost, you need a higher combustion temp which octane can produce. E85 is along the same idea

Very few are getting horrible mileage. I genenerally can top 20 mpg even when I'm climbing to the tops of mountains at 8000 feet. It has been like that from day one. I just leave mine in normal mode and either 2H or 4A depending on whether I'm on dirt or not.

But I drive mine gently almost never waking up the turbocharger and keeping it at 70 mph or below even on the 80 mph freeway. I'm betting that you could change your driving habits and see a big improvement.

There is a display mode that shows your mpg in a circle with the average in the center and a pointer for what you're getting now. You want that pointer on the right side of the dial, where straight up is 20 mpg. It also helps if you're not stopping all the time.

Gratuitous photo at a fire lookout in the tops of the mountains:

I pay attention to that gauge almost too much so I had to switch to another screen because it became not enjoyable. I feel like I have been driving very conservatively to see what I could get my mpg. I got up to like 15 after some highway driving but it’s been going down steadily in the city

Yeah, been there, done that. I'll occasionally end up on one of the off road screens that shows oil temperature, transmission temperature, voltage, and can't remember the other one. Just so I'm not concentrating on getting another 0.1 mpg better.

At least when I'm off road, the big off road screen showing tire pressures, lean angles, and steering angles seems like the right screen. I wish they had a screen with a real tachometer on it.

I keep my boost gauge up. Found out I could look at that, and it's been there ever since.

So far averaging around 21+mpg. Just returned from the mountains today and got 22.8. ‘22 OBX non-sas, 2.7L, 4.27 axle, 315 KO2’s @ 35psi, premium gas. I’m pretty happy with that.
