slap on some chrome wheels and blammo, instant hot rod.

bonus points for swapping bumpers for chrome counterparts and installing at least a chrome tip exhaust.

Chrome is definitely not necessary. Especially these days. Most are blacked out. ?

I could see a 2.7 with a tremec 6 speed swap and airbags. Id run it mostly with doors off and soft top for weight savings, also ditch the spare. change the exhaust to side pipes or atleast side exit. With the turbos swapped and running about 600 hp. Then the diet should bring it down to 4000lb. That puts you right in the current mid range hi-po muscle cars like the gt350 and the non demon mopars and anything with 2 SSs on it. Wouldnt handle the best around an autocross but fun for the drags and the stoplights.

I actually think it would be faster in a straight line then those cars you mentioned because of the 4 wheel drive and 600hp. No tire spin.

Just read through the whole thread and it has come to my attention that alot of folks are missing the point of hotrodding. Chrome a small tasteful amount is necessary, a manual is also( however there is no reason it has to be bought that way),you cant get an auto until you develop health problems(think old bikers on trikes), everything that isnt needed should be gone. Most importantly people should be building it all over the board for uses and styles. With the main themes of power, style, and overengineered simplicity. It does not have to do multiple things right, but it should do your favorite thing well.

I do think this is totally feasable. Also it doesnt have to be low as long as the front tires are narrow.

This is exact dilemma I've been wrestling with! The 2.7 can be a dang monster! My Bronco will probably never see a 1/4 mile drag strip but, having a tuned up 2 door 2.7 auto basesquatch and surprising ricers and diesel bros from stoplight to stoplight sounds enormously fun!

I agree with what you said except the chrome. As far as the Manual unfortunately in this case its not available with the 2.7 twin turbo. Also if we're talking Drag racing you definitely want the Auto for the fastest times anyways. Sure i love shifting a manual. When I had my Challenger Scat Pack I bought it in manual. So I definitely get it. Just doesn't apply here unfortunately.

Same with me. I probably would never beat it at a Drag strip. But Hot Roding it around town and having a practical vehicle for the winter would be priceless. And the ability to go Off Road even without Huge tires.

Ford Bronco Who's going the Hot Rod route? 5290318C-2763-46A7-914B-835B6DFB03E1

I’m thinking both. 2-Door FE , and I will do some tuning and air management improvements.

I don't technically view that set up as a Hot Rod. But it would definitely be one bad ass Off Roader thats for sure. ?

With everyone talking about the new Bronco mainly for Off Roading i haven't heard anyone talking about making it a Hot Rod.

I think there's a ton of potential here. Especially with the Base model 2 door with 2.7 twin turbo and 10 speed auto options.

Instead of purchasing the Sasquatch package you can take that extra money and put it towards tuning or if you really want tons of power upgrade the turbos, intake and cooling.

They did it here in the F 150 and got massive gains. Over 540hp and torque to the wheels. And since the Bronco is smaller and lighter It would be a lot faster then the F 150. I think it could easily be in the 11s.

I think in the end it would be awesome. You can have a cool Hot Rod and cruise with the top off. This Bronco would tear up the streets, the strip, and the dunes. This Bronco has so much potential. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.tf...rd-f-150-2-7l-ecoboost-v6-stage-3-tuning/amp/
Definitely will be interesting to see what people do with it, though without dropping some serious cash on that suspension it will be like having a flying brick at 7x14 feet dimensions and 11" of clearance.

When I look at the 2 door Base exactly how it is in this picture from Ford it just screams Hot Rod to me. Even right down the the 16 inch steelies.

All it needs is the 2.7 under the hood with tuning. And or other engine upgrades. Thats it.
