Sue? lol OP spoke about them handling the situation of a design flaw in the first post. Unless I missed it, I never saw him threaten litigation. Drama queens on here…
Post #73, for example. I never said it was the OP.

Point being, just because someone is letting a vendor figure out a solution to a problem before completely flipping out over it does not make them an “apologist”.

Oh ok. I’ll check that tomorrow.
I had a small scratch. Only one time down and no driving. Removed. I wasn’t sure I liked it anyway, although it made the top easier to go up it also made it hard to go down. I found it annoying. Total bust.

Some quality felt on the strut and PPF on roll bar will solve it. Touch up paint will fix most people's damage.
Yeah just needs more felt and tape 🤦‍♂️😂

Just wanted to let everyone know we are aware of this thread and are actively discussing possible causes and solutions. These are the first reports we’ve seen of any issues despite lots of internal testing prior to release. We will have some more info for you guys early next week. In the meantime please avoid opening the top all the way for this weekend. Thanks for the support.

For anyone experiencing these issues please help us to troubleshoot the issue by letting us know whether you have black or silver threaded ball ends where the struts mount.
Mine are black.

Mine are black. I too had the wear marks and I allied some industrial Velcro to the affected areas.

I’m going to assume he did it to see if others are having the same problem to see if it is an issue with his set or a design flaw. Based on the majority of responses here, I’d say most feel the same way.

I’d question the point of your post, though. Standing up for a vendor on a message board or just being a dick?
I posted it to warn others who might not have received damage yet or who hadn’t installed it yet. Also, to hopefully make contact with the manufacturer outside of customer service hours. Both these objectives were achieved.

I mean I didn't threaten legal litigation, but was just stating others may if they have significant paint damage with no vendor resolution. Sending out a DIY paint repair kit isn't exactly a fix for that situation.

As someone who has bought this and installed it I would have expected a warning email as well by now about the potential dangers of using this product with the roof in the final position. We would have used it this weekend with the top fully down if I didn't stumble across this post today.

Chargebacks could happen as they don't allow returns on installed products. Those looking to return products unused have to pay shipping and a 20% restocking fee.

Basically I except them to fully resolve quickly next week is all that post meant.

My valentine’s present will sit in its box until 1) my Bronco arrives and 2) the vendor figures out a fix. I appreciate the vender is responding so quickly over the weekend and will watch this thread over the next few weeks. Also appreciate board members suggesting fixes and brain-storming, but I hope the fix isn’t just ugly tape, felt or Velcro. Im in Arizona and my top will be down almost all the time, like my Wrangler’s was, and over time anything rubbing is going to wear through. This needs spacers and/or a slight redesign.

See post #101 - quick simple solution.
That's a bandaid. I'm 100% not here to bash IAG, I'm sure they will do the right thing on this. I would think very few people are going to accept an ugly strip of black Velcro as a solution for their very expensive new vehicle not getting damaged.

You should try an experiment and delete this entire thread and let’s see what happens.
