You don't need sport mode for that, just your right foot. The floor is the floor, regardless of what mode you use. Sport doesn't make your throttle body bigger... My 2.7 handles those guys in Normal just fine.
You are right. It's not needed, but it sure makes it more fun. Lol!

Because my Bronco and I are virtually the entire world apart. She hasn’t seen pavement since 6 December 2022. Oh to use ANY mode again!

I'm old and enjoy driving my Bronco. I like Sport mode, but in Houston traffic it's mostly meaningless. And always having to confirm you want to be in Sport (or Eco) when you restart the Bronco is annoying. Just leave it in the last mode I was in!

So I don’t have the automatically shifts into 4A problem on the BRaptor, but I haven’t liked the weird and too frequent automatic downshifting. It’s annoying.

I’ve found out that putting the transmission into manual and paddle shifting improves the experience. I guess guess ten gears adds a lot more downshifts and upshifts than a 6 speed MT. So there is a point where it’s better to flip back into normal and. Relax.

I agree the downshifts in the Bronco Raptor are sometimes jarring, almost feels like it slammed on the brake pedal. I like the feel on curvy roads, but slowing down to the red light take some getting used to. I’ll have to try it in manual.

if you have the 2.3 and the 7 speed sport mode is what the default should be. Normal is OK but I find I get the best performnce and economy from Sport. ECO delivers no sport and no eco. Normal is pretty good but sport makes the world a better place.
Agree with this, except I have found normal is best 60 or below for economy. At 60 plus and especially 70 plus Sport provides best economy on 2.3. At 78 mph it either shifts or completely locks the converter as rpm’s at 78 drop to 2100.

Why don’t you use sport mode when driving on road? You can vote for multiple reasons.

Where's the option for "Sport mode is what my sports car is for"? Every tool has its purpose. The Bronco is not a sports car. 😁
