The link provided is from 2015. It was re-engineered in 2018. The 2.7 and 10 speed is a proven power train. Not sure about the 2.3/7 speed, but that is not going to be an issue for me...I have a friend who's an engineer at Ford and he believes they always over engineer their trucks.
Of course, that was speaking of F150, 250, 350, and larger trucks.
The only thing that makes me more nervous than anything on the Bronco is the longevity of the engines on the Bronco. I'm concerned about the complex IFC - Integrated Front Cover, not to mention the dual turbos on the 2.7 L engine, which could be troublesome after a while
IFC acts as a structural member that connects the major components of the engine. With its integrated water pump, oil passages for cam phasing, oil cooler, oil filter, and accessory drive components, the IFC arrives at the plant preassembled, streamlining the production process.
Streamlining the production doesn't always translate to reliability and ease of repair and maintenance for the customer.
