Long time lurker, first post. Hello all.
I'm a July 14th res holder, early morning time frame.
Moved my reservation once, after talking to this dealership about xplan and no ADM, which they told me they would honor it plus a lifetime Powerplant warranty.
After transferring my reservation, they called and confirmed it transferred a month or so ago.
Yesterday I received the following email:
Hello,
Thank you for your Bronco reservation! We have updates from Ford: Deliveries of Bronco will be starting June of 2021…unfortunately, Bronco has over 190,000 reservations and Ford can only build a small percentage of those for the 2021 model year. We currently have over 50 reservations, but only given a small fraction of guaranteed allocation for 2021. The remaining reservations to orders will turn into 2022 models, no ETA as of today.
We need your order confirmation by 01/19/2021…
If you would like to convert your reservation to an order, please let us know ASAP…below are the current options that may delay your order, and free demand options that may get your order scheduled quicker:
Below are the current options that as of today may delay your order:
Below is free demand as of today:
To proceed with the order, we are taking $2500 non-refundable deposits…we are doing this to be fair, and trying to eliminate customers placing multiple orders at multiple dealerships across the country, a common practice in today’s environment…
What we will need from you:
We will then email you a buyer’s order to sign, copy of order receipt from Ford, and the information for the $2500 non-refundable deposit options…
If you have any questions, please feel free to reply….we are very excited for your new Bronco!

Now, I don't mind putting a deposit down. But for it to be Non-refundable is asinine.
Is anyone else experiencing this?
I replied asking before I go through with a deposit that they confirm price and xplan. They said they couldn't honor it, then I asked about the Ford appreciation Certificate for $2000 off that Ford gave me when I called to change dealerships. They promptly replied with they are not accepting that either.
I'm not giving 2500 to find out in March when they change the build and price again that my features go up in price or other features are available that would change my order. Or, I have a life event that prevents me from finalizing the purchase, and they take my money and sell my order off the lot with markup.
UPDATE: 01/21/2021
I may have jumped the gun a bit and raised my blood pressure more than I should have after their initial email as posted above. I was able to have a good conversation with their manager last night and again this afternoon, and we were able to reach a mutual agreement. I appreciate that he was upfront and honest, explaining what information Ford has provided and he was appreciative that I brought to light some of the other information that was provided on this site to further their knowledge.
In the end, I am sticking with Chapman of Lancaster due to their customer service, as I have previously stated, they were great to work with before on a previous purchase but I was taken back when I read their email for the reservation conversion, however, after speaking with them today I know I will continue to receive quality service. I really appreciate their Engine For Life program, and their reassurances provided to me that I will be satisfied with the vehicle upon delivery.
There was no question whether or not I was purchasing a new Bronco, it was just about where/from who I was purchasing it. I believe I will be happy with my choice, and I will let you know once I go in and finalize my order. The true testament will be in the next couple of days when I put my order in with them in person.
