GM is having a worse problem with their AFM V8 lifters, 8 years later there is finally a class action lawsuit but still no recall. Unlike GM, the 2.7L problems are likely a limited batch of engines and not a design flaw, it's self contained.

are they posting their engine labels w ser#, or at least engine build-dates ?
we could add them to B6g data set, long as no duplicates
I don't believe they've posted dates or serial numbers. Just a few posts about blown engines and pics of Broncos getting towed.

They will get censored...encourage them to post here!

A quick scan and I only see one over there, and he (Slosh1) said he reported it here. That forum is sleepy…

Looking at the 15 known engine build-dates so far, we have -

- '1st failure range' (17-days) - 21159 thru 21175 - 7 failures
- 'clear gap' (31-days) - 21176 thru 21206 - zero failures
- '2nd failure range' (18-days) - 21207 thru 21224 - 8 failures

With only 15 data-points our view is still fuzzy, but to have a 31-day 'clear gap' in the middle is very unlikely, unless we're looking at separate failure ranges.
With data we have so far, it appears very likely we have some kind of a 'clear gap' in the middle.
Wonder how many in the Gap are dirt mountain and just haven’t hit the mileage yet.

Ok, for fun let's say 200? 200/34000? Still not worried.

How about 500? 500/34000 or 1.5%? Still not worried. If it were over 100 it would be all over the Jeep forums as they would be eating that shit up.
Still off. It's the 34,000 which is wrong. How many forum members have taken delivery of their 2.7 Bronco. ? Maybe someone could figure that out. Say it's 1000. 25/1000= 2.5%. Either way it's clear your opinion won't be swayed.

My thoughts exactly. My Bronco spent about three months at dirt mountain. I’m still waiting for delivery. My only hope is that it was delayed so they had time to resolve this issue before it was shipped.

The creation of Dirt Mountain could be for more than one issue. Blend date range 21164 to 21225

Histogram better visual 'clear gap' - current 21176 thru 21206
appears separate 'failure ranges'

I wish we had this data on all 26. I've DM'd a few with no response. The next best data point is model. I don't think it matters, but more data is best.

This is great work, probably more effort than Ford is putting in at this point.
Until we find out about the other 10 failure build dates it might be premature to call that gap "in the clear".

This is probably when they closed the plant for a few weeks or paused building engines lol.

It is. In the DM thread we're finding other updated parts on some DMBs than just tops.
