that makes the BB a bargain. I read the MGV description and it includes wash-out/rubber floors too. Add the rear locker and you have a 23 Black Diamond with a 12" screen.
Of course, one would be missing the full steel bash plates, rock rails, grill, and the Grabbers.

Pretending to think about putting an order in for a Heritage, and see what happens. Might not be a bad move if the trade in for my 23 Base continues to hold out, but I doubt it would by the time a Heritage is built.

FYI: Hoop steps are not rock rails, if that is something you care about.
Hoop steps attach to the rock rails, which come standard on the BD

yeah, but those are available or better in the aftermarket. There are even some pretty cool grills coming out now. I'm not a BB buyer (most likely), but it seems to be a pretty good bargain. I see more value in it than I did before.

If I was still in the market and that configuration was truly valid that's probably what I would buy. It is interesting that adding SAS to that combo makes it 3.5k more than a nearly identical spec (lose MGV, add tailgate table and mod top) 4-door heritage

I guess I'm mistaken, I thought I read that people who chose hoopsteps were disappointed to learn that they weren't actual rock rails, with people saying it was noted in the discription, and people were advised to order aftermarket clamp on's.

Edit: description says: removes rock rails....rails can't support the weight of vehicle.

Ugh, now the Badlands makes you go with the 2.7 if you want an auto. So much for the BL being the substitute for the base I wanted. Looks like Black Diamond is the sweet spot now.

But $8K for Sas on a BD? :ROFLMAO: Say it ain't so. The price bloat on that package is as bad as the Performance Package on Mustang these days.

No they don't, the hoop steps replace the factory rock rails with an attachment bar thingy which is not rated for the weight of the vehicle.

interesting. So if I preferred standard running boards would I be better off with neither the rails nor the hoop steps and just getting my own running boards? I don’t intend to do any rock crawling

So they made the 12" screen standard across the board, but you still have to upgrade to the High/Lux package(+$3k) to get the 360° camera?! WTF was the point then?! I originally wanted a base 4 door Wildtrak hardtop with the 12" screen/360° camera, and the Hoss 3.0, pretty simple. My build is now $5k+ more than it was originally. 🤯
