How many of you plan to purchase a Ford ESP extended warranty plan?

I am struggling with this decision. This will be the 2nd new vehicle I have ever bought. It is over twice the cost of the first new vehicle I bought, 2006 Honda Odyssey. I did not buy an extended warranty and the transmission went out last summer at 16 years old and 275k miles. A warranty never would have paid for itself.

This vehicle does not have the reliability rating of a Honda. I plan to keep it for the long haul and pass it on to my son. I am considering the 125k or 150k 10yr plan with $50 deductible.

What are you planning to do?

I’m a 4/24 build. Dealer says it’s on a truck in Toledo and he’ll have it in VA tomorrow. Badlands/2.7/High/NonSAS/Soft. Originally I was a WT with all sins. $57,990 MSRP on the BL, now $50,200 after adjustments!

I'm planning on keeping the Bronco for minimum 10 years and with it still being a first run of a new model, I'll be picking it up. Keeping up on the forums here I just see too many things and want to make sure I'm covered. Will buy it from Granger shortly after purchase.

There was a good cost breakdown thread but I cant seem to find it right now

I’m know the thread you are talking about. You can find the pricing on Granger’s website

Ok, just got home from a trip to the dealer... First, it's still sitting at MAP shipping yard waiting to be shipped. The ETA they have is 6/13. Not much changed there.

But on the pricing front, there was a lot of back and forth. First, they came back with my sticker and said your price is MSRP minus the $2595 certificate "offer". I said no, look at the sticker, it has all of the accessories at the higher price, I know we get protected for those increases... I showed him the flow chart (that made things worse) and they were highly defiant about the 6g flow chart and said it's not correct. They've seen it from other customers and have confirmed with Ford that it's inaccurate. But he also said I should have protection from those equipment adds.

He said "hold on", and off to the managers office he went.

When he came walking back past where I was sitting, he said "alright, I think we got it now, give me a couple minutes"... About 5 minutes later he came out and said, "I got the answer".

He said the pricing they will be invoiced (and thus the MSRP charged to you) is based on the last DORA that was created for you. So every time you made a change to your order, a new DORA was created. He said "I printed your most recent DORA and here's a copy for you. Take the MSRP on the DORA and deduct the $2595 and that's your price."

My DORA price from OCT 14 of 2022 (last change made) is $3360 less than my sticker price. Then deducting the $2595 from the DORA puts me at $200 difference from the "flow chart". I can live with that and I have copies of it. ;)

Thought I was in for a battle for a little bit. I think I got through it....

Phew! So they are basically price protecting you from the last DORA. That makes sense too since the hard top, bumper, and 4 door ( in my case) all increased in Feb and March right? Thanks for doing the hard work for me, lol. I wonder if I will now get a reply to my email?

I had a similar experience at first via the phone with my dealership. I explained why I felt like I should be price protected to my DORA. At first it was explained away, but I asked for my salesman to speak with the manager and get back to me. He ended up emailing me 45 minutes later confirming the price on my DORA. There are so many layers because of orders that have been carried over MY to MY and various price increases, it just gets downright confusing. At the end of the day, everyone wants to make sure they are not losing money from the consumer to the salesman to the dealership.

I am glad it has worked out for you as it should.

Don't forget about the $250 subwoofer delete if you are deducting from the DORA price.
Excellent point, I’ve already noted it on my DORA.

Thank you!

What’s this about?
The 2023MY were supposed to have a rear sub woofer. They only produced vehicles with this sub woofer for about 3 weeks before it became a constrained and unavailable commodity.
