Heading out for a road trip and was wondering what is the best mode setting to use to get best mpg. I have a '23 Wildtrack 2.7L engine. No mods.

Eco mode 2 wheel drive
Eco mode 4A
normal mode 2
Normal 4A

Or some other mode I am not thinking of?

Eco 2 wheel drive or normal mode 2. The Eco mode changes the shift points but on the highway Iā€™m not sure you will see any difference. The aerodynamics and heavy rotating mass of the wheels makes the Bronco one of the worst vehicles of its size for fuel economy. We average 17.5mpg in mixed driving with our Bronco and 29 mpg in our Range Rover diesel that is the about same size and also weighs 5,000+ lbs.

Normal 2-High.

Eco mode changes how the turbo, throttle, and transmission behavesā€¦ but for highway driving at consistent speeds none of that really matters. Eco is more for around-town or state road driving when you change your speed more often.

And check tire pressure. Make sure youā€™re at the recommended PSI. A lot of people aired down for comfort reasons, but a higher PSI will help quite a bit in the interstate for fuel economy.

My 2.7 on premium fuel Eco 2wd is (by dash computer) delivering 22 mpg highway only. My daily drive has me at 20.1 mpg combined.

Just drive down to Florida. 39 PSI and cruise set to 65 MPH gave best MPG, around 24 MPG (2.3 Liter Sasquatch).

Single best thing for mpg. Slow down. Works great in any car. Especially a high riding brick.
I saw about 2 mpg loss for every 5mph I went above 70.
70 was about 24 mpg
75 about 22.5
80-85 about 18-19.5

this was all during a one way drive from ohio to Idaho using 87 octane. Base 2.3 7spd with black diamond 32ā€ tires.

Coming home was worse. Went through the corn states so I suspect a higher blend of ethanol.

My dash showing me my mpg is generous. I use Road Trip to record my fuel-ups and it is calculated at about 17..5 average around town in that app.

In my '11 Camaro SS and '13 Mustang GT, I could sustain low 30 mpgs at 55mph. Did it many times on US 301 in north FL. Even got a calculated 30+ mpg on that stretch in a '98 T/A with 135K and auto ;)

Yes... makes you wonder about what else the on board computer is wrong about.

The mode where you drive 65 the whole time? it seems like mine gets a little better mileage at 80 than 75 but haven't done enough long trips to be certain. in 10th gear at 70mph on flat ground the engine is basically at zero vacuum, so any increased throttle puts the turbos into boost which requires more fuel.

Iā€™m making generally 17.9 in 4d hardtop Sasquatch w/ 2.7. I keep it generally around 70 and find cruise control is bad for mpgā€™s. If I donā€™t need the throttle, I stay out of it. I still occasionally open the turbos to keep them happy. I get 14.3 towing my 6x12 cargo conversion in Sport 2H. Iā€™m satisfied with mileage as it is not much less than my Explorer with the NA 3.5 that didnā€™t make me smile near as much.

The mode itself would have little to do with actual highway driving.

What matters is your overall speed. Once your torque converter is locked, modes have no effect.

One thing to look for, is your boost PSI. Boost equals less MPG.

So if you're driving fast enough that you're seeing boost...slow down:)
