I have 2 options, 1st option a 2 door area 51 Big bend 2.7L, mid package, upgraded headlights and hardtop or 2nd option a Cactus Grey 4 Door outer banks mid package 2.3L, rear locker, leather and soft top. Which is the better option?

Between the 2 bad options, the BB with open diffs in the rear is the worst, unless the BB has a hard top (which while being a $700 option, would cost over $5k to swap). I wouldn't touch either one.

Really depends on what you are looking for from a vehicle.
Do you need more space? If so, the 4 door would be the obvious choice.
Do you plan to off-road enough to the point where you would need a rear locker?
If not, then don't get it.
The only thing I prefer here is the 2.7, although I'm sure the 2.3 is just fine.
Coming from a hot climate (such as yourself), I prefer the cloth seats over leather.
Also, not sure if the mid pack has heated seats or not, which if not, would be another reason to steer away from the leather.
So I guess if space wasn't a factor for me, I'd be choosing the BB.

Neither would be first choice. If I had to choose the one with the locker would be a better starting point.

Don't know how I missed that. I saw your early thread about deciding between a Wildtrak and a BL, these new choices seem to be polar opposites of what you had previously considered. The best option is using a blank slate and decide what you want, then build one and wait or go find something similar.

Doesn't it depend on how and where you plan on taking it? Everyone in here talks like they're driving their bronco up the south face of everest. You're paying the bill not these heroes in here. Do some research, find out what's important to you and pull the trigger, or don't and buy what all these experts tell you to.

For me Bronco decision chain kinda goes:
2d vs 4d
hardtop v soft
Sas v no Sas
Auto v manual
2.3 v 2.7
locker v no
carpet/cloth v washout/MGV
bumpers/ skids
Lux features

So your choice is yours, but should be done by step 2

Good list, I'd add carpet vs washout floors, slide it in there over bumper/skids.
Good catch, I strongly wanted cloth/carpet so that really influenced me, edited and lots of folks would rate lux features high, just not important to me

You didn't mention Option 3? Which is to wait out for what you want, those aren't the only two Bronco's on the market. If you find the one you truly want you won't be posting on here asking!

Either way, good luck!

I’d say it’s a tough crowd too but I do think you can provide more info on what is the primary driver for your purchase.

I have a 4 door Big Bend 2.3 with no lockers and a floppy top. I bought it off the lot to “hold me over” till I could put in an order. I bought it last April and still haven’t been able to put in an official order. Add in that my order will have 2/3 commodity constraints I am fully anticipating having my BB another year.

All that said I absolutely love my Big Bend. It is my favorite vehicle I’ve ever owned and I honestly think it does everything I need it to. I’ve found myself enjoying cloth seats, feel the 2.3 is plenty of power and the floppy top has performed amazing during the Minnesota winter. Would I like lockers, hard top, Lux package and the 2.7? Yes, absolutely. But I have a Bronco NOW and have made some amazing family memories with it. I’ve gone off road numerous times and never gotten into trouble.

Turns out the perfect Bronco for me is the one currently in my garage. I will upgrade when I can but while I wait I could care less how long it takes because it turns out the average Bronco is well above average in my book.
