I have a 2021 Bronco Sport. As I was waiting for a red light to change the car went into complete engine failure and stranded me in the middle of a busy intersection. I wasn’t able to turn on my hazards, put it in neutral, or jump start it. They could not even push me off the road because the brakes were locked. I had it towed to the dealership who’s trying to tell me it’s just a dead battery. They said they charged the dead battery and there is nothing wrong with the battery. They said they plug it into the computer and no error message get returned . I am afraid to drive this until I'm sure it is fixed. What would you do?

Doesn’t the trans default to Park on those things?, The brakes shouldn’t have been “locked”, The trans would’ve prevented you from rolling. Maybe the EBrake engaged?

A dead battery mid drive would indicate a faulty charge system or a bad battery connection (without diving into harness/module issues)

Either way, the folks over at BSF will have more relevant advice to your model of vehicle

More than likely a battery or the connection. It's a fairly well known issue on the BSF. They seem to be pretty hard on batteries.

Helpful responses. 😁 Good luck OP, I would be headed to the dealership, hopefully the root cause is determined.

It is at the dealership now for the 5 th day - They now admit there is a problem, they just don't know what to do. They said it may take a few days. Why? you may ask yourself!

Write a scathing Yelp review, making sure to title it "Worst Bronco EVER".

Then light my hair on fire and run through the front doors of Ford corporate covered in chocolate syrup and sprinkles.

A similar thing happened to me when I first got my FE. I was at a busy intersection first in line. I went to go when it turned green. The ASS tried to kick in and everything shut down. No power to anything, nothing.

Everything came back on after about 2 minutes. Since then, I've had once or twice where the electrical system hiccups while I'm driving down the highway (entertainments system shuts down and starts back up for example) but it doesn't affect driving unless cruise control is on.

Anyway, I'll hold off on the old fart bit about complaining about electronics in these things.

Just another reason why auto start-stop is the devil and should be removed from all cars due to safety issues.

Be sure to video it or it doesn't count.

Details matter.
Which specific sprinkles do you recommend? Details matter and we need to know if generic birthday sprinkles are good, or if seasonal sprinkles would have a greater impact.
