My salesman told me the fake sounds come on when in sport mode. I wonder if it’s only part of the B&O system ?

Yeah. My SAS BD I had before this, I put a pretty beefy system in it. Absolutely no engine noise. It was a NON B&O/Non Lux truck. This is a Bronco Raptor B&O. Its not super annoying as you only really hear it at idle. I dont think its coming from the sub signal though. Im intercepting the other speakers and using a Kicker Key LOC/harness from Sounds Good Stereo (works really well). When I was amplifying the stock sub signal, there was no engine noise with pretty much the same setup. Only since switching from the sub signal to using the other speakers and the KeyLoc, do I hear the noise which shows that its coming from the kick panel speakers. I also would have figured they pumped it through the subwoofer but that doesn't seem to the case. I know the rangers and F150s have a pretty clear setting in the ACM. Just need to find it on the Bronco. Is see people editing the 787 series numbers in the ACM but mine are 727 which may be a variation in year/model/trim. Who knows.
Hey, how long does your keyloc green (power) light stay on after you shut the engine off?

It's there for sure. Could be the fake engine noise or something else. I think it's part of the ANC. I ran the RCAs from my KeyLoc into my home stereo and I get the rumble so that rules out a ground loop (unless my house is grounded to the same thing my bronco is :) )
I think you're right that its part of ANC, which you can disable in ForScan. I don't notice any rumble with that off. I have B&O w/ aftermarket sub & amp.

I have a 2024 Big Bend with the base 7 speaker setup. I did all the recommended speaker and amp upgrades and added an extra sub and amp in the back. Got everything tuned in the garage and decided to take it out for a drive and is sounded like a garbled grumble was coming from somewhere. I thought something was rubbing on the tires. Then I thought I screwed up the speaker and amp install. Did some research and for the first time heard about the fake engine noise. I didnt think they would include it on the base BB model but mine had it. The forscan is different than the Lux models in that we dont have a DSP module. I found after a while that I only have to change the following to turn it off:

ACM 727-01-01 xxxx-xxxx-*xxx

Original showed 382B 16F1 10AA
Fixed version shows 382B 16F1 00AA

Keep in mind this code above is before and speaker change settings that are recommended for this same module. Ford obviously stuck a lot on this chip.

FYI - the engine sounds like a 4cyl now

I have a 24 Black Dimond. I went to turn this off as well. But the line 727-01-01 did not have a "Write" button next to it like other lines. Do you have to hit, "Write to whole Module" at the bottom of the screen? I almost did that. But second guessed and decided to ask first.

Thanks!

ok, so I was able to get the forscan software downloaded. In the meantime I took my Bronco to the ford dealership and they plugged in their computer module and said that the ANC was turned off.
I don't understand how that is possible because I have the fake engine noise coming into the cabin when accelerating. Any ideas? Should I still proceed with the Forscan to change?

Make sure to save copies before you make any changes and … why not? You can always change it back if it doesn’t do what you want

I finally got the forscan software downloaded to my laptop and ordered the Link Cable.
Made the setting adjustment you recommended (see above) and it worked great!
My Bronco no longer sounds like it has a hole in the muffler.
From what I am gathering, the lux pkg with the b&o system has the Active Noise Cancelling feature built in which once disabled removes the fake engine noise.
On the standard 7 speaker pkg models (big bend, BD, etc) the Active Noise Cancellation is disabled which makes sense when I took it to the dealership and their computer system said it was turned off.
The fake engine noise feature is then a subset of the ACM module which is adjusted through forscan.

Here is my understanding of the adjustments made with the forscan based upon whether you have the Lux pkg.

Adjustment for LUX Package B&O Stereo Equipped Broncos using Forscan

LUX PKG

Okay just called my buddy. It is part of the ANC setup so yeah more prominent and or exclusive to vehicles with Lux. It's part of the ANC (Active Noise Cancellation) so those without Lux either get a reduced version of the fake ass engine noise or none at all. I knew it was generally complained about for vehicles with higher trims. Anyways if you have Lux there is ANC in the DSP and you can turn it off with ForScan and see if it helps make it go away. @LightRefined

My original post in the ACM (Audio Control Module) is for Software ANC. Both may need to be disabled. Also both may not work. No clue but good luck. Weiners crossed

Hey all,

I installed an aftermarket amp and subs in my 4 door lux OBX, and I'm running into an issue. Whenever I accelerate, my subs give off a hum in time with the engine, and after some googling, I discovered the engine sounds in these is fake/amplified.

Does anyone know if it's possible to disable the fake engine sound? Will I have to go through the dealer?

List of equipment used in case anyone's curious:

2 Skar SVR-12s in custom enclosure
Skar RP-1500.d amplifier
Knukonceptz 4 AWG OFC wiring kit
AudioControl LC2i tapped into front kick panel speakers (gonna need to patch into the factory sub wiring, these speakers don't have much bass below 60hz)

EDIT: Looks like the consensus is that there isn't necessarily "fake engine noise" on the Bronco's, but instead a high possibility of at least some sort of Active Noise Canceling signal being output from the B&O DSP. This sort of signal is MUCH more difficult to detect with the naked ear, but is much more pronounced if you start adding aftermarket amps/subwoofers.

Also, just for clarification: the sound I'm hearing is nothing like the whine you get from a ground loop - it's a low bass note that only occurs when I really give the beans to the throttle and the engine makes noise. I won't hear a sound at 3,500 RPM unless I'm flooring it.

There's also this thread from the past discussing the same thing: https://www.bronco6g.com/forum/threads/fake-engine-sounds-kill-or-keep.4237/
I was just wondering if you have checked the grounds on your amps. You can get an engine whining sound if you have bad grounds.

Thanks for this. I'm running into the same problem on my 2025 base 2 door after Kicker Key 200.4 install. Seemed a little louder after replacing the speakers but not much. Definitely louder after the amp install--and yes all gains on amp are at minimum as well. Planning to check this out in next day or two.

You change that first "D" to a C". I just did it and it works like a champ. The fake noise is even louder/worse than I realized. Incredible difference. I despise the faux noise for some reason. Much better!
Did this to a '25 2.7L w/ LUX to the DSP module 783-01-01.
Can confirm the change of the first "D" to a C" worked to remove the fake engine noise.
