Does the universal garage door opener function when the vehicle is off?

I ordered the high package but I am curious about the universal garage door opener on the Lux package.
I plan to garage my bronco but when I don't I would not want a functioning garage door opener in a vehicle with a soft top.

I can tell you the GD opener in my Audi doesn't work when the car is off. I would expect this to be the same.

I hope it opens the door when the car is off, or at least in ACC mode. I'm not too keen on the idea of having to start up my car in a closed garage. Then again, I guess I could open the garage from the inside before hand. Solved my own problem, lookit me go.

My wifes Expy does not work with the car off, just tried it.

edit: I lied, it does work, was pushing the wrong button. I really dont like that it works with the key off.

My ‘12 Raptor garage opener works with the truck off while my Wife’s BMW does not.

You can get universal garage door openers for $20 off of Amazon. The Lux package is egregiously expensive if all you want/care for out of it is garage doors openers.

With that, it is ridiculous that only the Lux packages come with garage door openers...

I’ve never had a vehicle with one built in like the Bronco will have. How exactly do they work? How are they programmed? I have an Overhead Door garage: https://www.overheaddoor.com/ Will it work with that company? My opener is currently just a visor attachment.

How does the ACC mode work with push button starts? Genuine question, I've never owned one.

Exactly. When my gf was shopping for a new car I said 'You make enough money that you shouldn't have to physically pull a key from your pocket and put it in an ignition' (very inexpensive vehicles have push button ignitions these days). The thought of NOT having a garage door opener from the factory on a brand new vehicle is insane to me
