I came here to say this. I have done similar shopping with a GM extended warranty and saved a TON.

Does anybody know who the good dealerships are for discounted Ford Warranties? It might be helpful to post about it here as a central resource.
Flood and Ziegler Ford are the two I’ve seen mentioned most.

You do not have to purchase the Ford ESP from the dealer selling you the car, while under pressure in the finance office to make a quick decision. You can purchase it from any Ford dealer. If you do a simple search, you will find many authorized Ford dealers selling Ford ESPs. The savings are about 40% to 50% off the retail price. The other option is to get a quote, and ask the dealer selling you the Bronco to match that price. Most of the time, they will say yes.
I've never purchased an extended warranty on a car or truck before , or a motorcycle for that matter , but there has always been dealers out there selling them for huge discounts . I remember several people that rode bikes with us purchased their extended warranties for next to nothing from a dealer in Texas and we were all in Alabama .

100% yes. I buy it on every vehicle I get. 2012 I bought a 2012 CPO Mustang that only had 5k miles on it, and got the ext warranty. at 40k miles, the rear end blew up and needed to be replaced. at 55k the dual-mass flywheel failed and needed to be replaced (would have been over a $3k repair without the warranty), and at 67k, the engine spun a rod bearing.. new engine covered by ext warranty. In 2016, I traded that Mustang in and bought a 2016 ecoboost Mustang (with ext warranty from Ford for 7 yrs/125k miles)... last year, with 62k mi on it, the engine needed to be replaced due to head gasket failure. Cost me $100 (extended warranty deductible). I will 100% be getting an extended warranty on the Bronco

Dang! You got your money’s worth on those warranties.

The only issue with with that suggestion is extended warranty prices are often based on the current mileage of the vehicle, which means you'll pay more for the warranty if you wait. If someone is considering an extended warranty, it would probably be best to have their mind made up by the time they go and pick up the vehicle so they don't pay as much in the long run.
mhmm, didn’t know that. Thanks!

I bought an extended warranty on my used WRX through a company called Easy Care. With less than 3,000 miles remaining on the warranty they paid for a new turbo, short block, and head rebuild to the tune of ≈$13,000 parts and labor when the oil seals on the turbo failed and force fed the engine all it's oil. It depends on the warranty company and vehicle.

You can always buy it towards the end of your factory warranty if you have had a troublesome vehicle.
Doesn't the price of the extended warranties go up after each year without it?

No problem! I will probably not buy mine at Granger since I live in Missouri, but my first important stop on my way home will be to Lindsey Ford in Lebanon where they offer a bumper to bumper extended warranty with no required maintenance schedule.

I'm surprised that not a lot of replies mention being denied claims for some silly reason.

I've always steered clear of Extended Warranties b/c A) I know they fleece you on the price and B) when the time comes to actually file a claim, getting denied because they found proof I drove the car in the rain or had the oil changed a day later than required. It sounds like that is not the norm though, so maybe a Ford Protect plan from an online dealership for cheap will be in the cards.

Nope, I bought the truck from a local dealer in Atlanta. They wanted to charge me something crazy at time of vehicle purchase and after.

I just filled out an online application with my vin etc and a day later they emailed me confirming it was setup. It showed up in my FordPass app reflecting the extended warranty that day. Never even had to talk to anyone.
good info

If it does, I didn't know that. What I like about buying it later is if you have had a trouble fee vehicle for the first 3/36, it may not be worth buying. If it has been troublesome, then maybe it is. Also one less thing you are paying interest on in your loan.

A Ford repair tech on this forum said a water pump change on the 2.7L runs close to $1000. Mainly due to the labor to get to it and put everything back in place. It’s not a difficult job of replacing the water pump, it’s the time in labor to get to it and restore.

I figure with all the sensors and computers of the two engines and the addition of this being an off road truck. I will certainly get an extended factory warranty from a qualified online source.

Extended warranty is a great idea when purchasing a used vehicle but not necessarily as important for a new one unless you’re keeping it for longer than the manufacturer’s warranty period.
