Yesterday I notice this on my console around my cupholders. I have literally only had my phone or a yeti cup in either of the holders. I am using a apple usb-c charging cable. The only thing that put my finger on what happened here is that the usb-c cable got hot? Can anyone else crack the code or offer any suggestions? There was no marks on the cable.

I really doubt it was the power cord.
First there are no marks on the cord.
Second the cord if it did get that hot would be brown.
Third how long would it have to have been sitting in the same position to cause this.

The plastic on the interior seems to scratch pretty easy. Do you wear a ring that might have scratched it.

I have run both Apple and Android and I have never had a cord get hot. I have had an Android burn my leg because it was in my pocket, over heat in a belt carried case. I have had an iPhone over heat on my dash.

My bet is your ring or you hit it with your coffee cup with out realizing it.

Had assumed this thread was about how to properly use ten question marks in a sentence!!!!!!!!!!

Came here expecting tumescence, leaving with disappointment and no better understanding of how to use ten question marks.

Maybe that was how you scuffed your console, dropped a metric ton of ?????????????????? On it accidentally?

After owning mine for a year, I’m pretty sure the plastic just disintegrates if you look at it the wrong way. Talk about junk plastics! Ford didn’t even try.

The interior materials are some of the worst I've ever seen since the days of the Yugo. Stuff like that is meant to be expected.

If you had the 30 oz Yeti, could the larger upper area be smashing the cord into the platic trim. Couple that with some heat from the sun, and the plastic molds around the cord.

All kidding aside, it does look like melted plastic. I have heard of phone wires getting hot before.

I don't think that is from the cable per se, but rather the connector. Looks to m like that part was hot after charging and then melted the plastic
