Let's say you have $60K to spend. Make a choice:

Option 1: Fully loaded Sasquatch Bronco

+ Get the dream Bronco with every convenience that you want
- Only one vehicle

Option 2: Base Bronco with almost nothing on it, PLUS a vintage "project" Bronco (that happens to be GREEN!)
Listing: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1966-ford-bronco-41/
+ You get two vehicles and one of them is green (assuming this one will sell about $25K or less)
- You cannot afford Sasquatch, the big screen, fancy option packages, etc.

I'd get the loaded Squatch. Out of the box, you have an awesome top off 4x4 with 35s.

That green Bronco would cost me a forune to get the way I wanted...restored body, fenders cut, lift, lockers, new interior, wheels, tires, engine and tranny work....it's cheaper to buy a restored and built one than to do it yourself, unless you just have a passion to build one.

I guess it would depend if somebody has the skills, location, and equipment to restore the 66'.
If somebody is going to pay to have it restored, you better have DEEP pockets.🤑

Do you want to spend your free time under a rusty truck or driving your new Bronco on and off road?

Slightly different take: I'd do exactly what I'm planning now. Option a 50k Badlands, and have fun dropping another 10k over the next several years, as correct sized wheels become available, tires of choice, fender change options, various accessories, etc...

The most expensive car is a cheap classic...

I figure the same thing with my Base Bronco. I can treat it like a lego set and upgrade every year or two.

What would be the point in getting a base Bronco if you have a vintage Bronco? I'd much rather have a vintage Bronco and a new sporty daily driver.

I like wrenching from time to time... so I voted for the vintage... but that may not be your sort of pass time

Welp,
ya got your answer.
(and the most logical one).
All true.
Personally Doing this stuff I can support the buying of the one vs. two.
The only Caveat there is really if you were looking to resell the vintage at profit (which could be difficult depending on the primary purchase price plus the investment to get it in a high-dollar market condition).

If you were looking to get your Bronco(s) to keep and enjoy...I'd go with the one loaded one.
Old ones are cool but not high on the refinement/creature comfort spectrum.
And to chop up such a good candidate for a OEM resto would be close to painful to do.
If you're going to open up rear fenders, lift, customize, etc., it makes more sense to get something you'd have to replace 1/4's on anyway and not molest an original in such good condition.
Cash outlay to restore/custom build the EB could be 10k or 40k, hard to say.
That's my 2 cents anyway...
