I love the Rigid Pod lights ($650). I want to order these and utilize the wiring in the rearview mirrors for these. One thing that isn't clear, is does a switch for the lights magically show up somewhere...which would happen if it was a 'regular' option?

I'd love a magically-appearing switch, but if I have to pay $195 for the 6 Aux Switches and just use one ....that's not a dealbreaker.

Anyone know about this, or is it a mystery to everyone?

Good question but guessing that if you want them to work at delivery then the Aux are required OR that you delineate to your dealer that you will install a switch and wire them.

I was going to order the pod lights and rock crawler lights till I found them online Cheaper. I am getting the overhead switches that are prewired and install them myself.

I'd put my money on that. Pod lights/bars will be hooked up on the AUX.

Just a point, the wiring isn't going to be by the mirror, the switches will be but the wiring is most likely in the drivers side foot well.

Thought I read somewhere too that there would be dead ended wires both under the hood and in the passenger compartment. Not sure where I read it though. Raptorland maybe?

Also be careful of all the “add ons.” These will delay your order. They are subcontracted to what is called a body vendor. All of these will add time to the order, possibly delaying weeks, if not months. Dealer installed options are one thing, but body vendor is a whole new issue.

Although this is true, some of us are in no rush to pay for this rig. :ROFLMAO:

More important is the potential diminishing returns of NOT ordering things like those Rigid pod lights installed. If you do your own wrenching, no biggie, but if you don't do it well (they'll rattle loose on trail), or plan to pay someone else later, the cost, lost time, maybe even wiring and placement make it prohibitive to do aftermarket.

I can place my order in next week or two, then won't care if my Bronco doesn't get delivered until November or so, or they can just make it a 2022.

Starting to think I don't want to be one of the first guys here in Atlanta with the new Bronco, one of many is just fine.

Sidenote, I am curious to see if Ford kept a channel of any kind to wire the cowl/mirror mounted pods. If not, snaking wiring through the body will SUCK.

I'm with you 100% here. I hate wiring, mostly tucking the wiring that I've done like for my Ham antenna, CB antenna, and some lights on my old Disco. Weatherproofing and ensuring you run them in a manner that'll stay put, not crimp, and not make something else loose is my concern from experience.

I ran my CB wires, but had the Ham installed, and it wasn't a good run; had to take it back to fix also after a day of wheeling and camping. That was an off road shop, were backed up, and kept for basically a day; it sucked.

I'll have to do the exact same thing with this Bronco for my comms, but don't want to fool with lights.

Think I saw something where there is a sort of plug and play feature for those true pod lights that go on the hood. I like them, but don't want to get them day one. Do plan to do some lower amber lights and place an amber cover over my fog lights.
