Even if it’s felt rubbing that spot, it’s still rubbing on the paint. The idea is to stop the contact not just lessen the amount of wear. PPF on the actual contact point of the paint would be the best option.I thought so too at first. But he’s talking about putting it on the black bars of the soft top itself not the painted roll bar.
The felt is a good idea for the top. It would keep the PPF from leaving marks on the top over time. A combo of both would keep both wear points from making contact.
