Coyote motor would sound glorious but is dimensionally large. I was surprised to see Godzilla crate motor is only $6k, 430hp/475tq. That would be a great truck engine for this.

Start saving your money. The DR has one for $250K. Then get it registered for the street if it matters. For a lot less you can probably do a SFA and a V8 somewhere. The EV version will be out soon.

Ford knew pretty clearly going into creating the new Bronco that people would want a v8. With that said Ford doesnā€™t really put v8 in their cars that much anymore. You canā€™t even get a v8 expedition anymore. Of course they had to offer it in the super duty because itā€™s an HD truck. The f-150 had several engine options and only one of them is an v8. They didnā€™t even include one in the 17+ f-150 raptor which kinda still blows my mind. I donā€™t see Ford adding a v8 option to the Bronco anytime soon. We can hope one day they do though, I would buy one.

Before I tell anyone about my automotive background.

First hear me out...

I want a V8 in my Jeep and my Bronco for purely one reason.....It sounds awesome and has amazing torque with low displacement without the need of forced induction.
Yes! Agree! Would much rather have a workable v8 than these turbo technological nightmares. People can barely manage changing the oil.

My uncle bought the 392 Jeep and it was delivered a few months back. The thing sounds great and is pretty fast. I noticed he stopped driving it and went back to his F-150 KR. When I asked why he said he was getting 11 MPG in it and it needs premium fuel. He was filling up almost once a week. Now is sitting in the garage. šŸ¤·ā€ā™‚ļø
Don't need a V-8, its fun but the extra $25k and the fuel makes it not practical at all.

Its not going to happen, there is no point. Thing would be worse off road and be a gas guzzler. Twin turbo 6 cyl is the way to go. Why would you want a less efficient engine that makes similar power and less low end torque?

Do people really care that much about the "sound" on an SUV?

Do people think that Ford is going to make a worse performing purpose built vehicle for a sound?

Eh, doubt it'll ever happen.

The Jeep Wrangler 4xe was the best selling plug-in hybrid in the market for the first half of the year... and is selling WAY more units than the Wrangler 392. Ford isn't dumb, they're looking at the numbers too.

They know the 4xe starts at $52,000, can generate 470 lb-ft of torque, has a 370 mile total range, and gets 49 MPGe. Meanwhile the Hemi 392 Wrangler starts at $75,000, can also generate 470 lb-ft of torque, yet with only 14 MPG and a 300 mile range.

Don't get me wrong, I think it would be cool if they offered a V8 option in the Bronco. But if I was Ford looking at the engineering costs to develop these vehicles and deciding where to put my resources... I am 100% focusing on a hybrid Bronco.

One day I will find one with a blown motor and broken trans for a few thousand. Then I will swap in a 351 or 460 just for kicks. Maybe twin turbo it and put super axles under it. Whatever I can find in the wasteland.

Itā€™s not happening. There will be a much more powerful EV version at some point, with infinitely better torque and torque delivery.
But nobody wants a rolling crematorium.

I'm with OP, a V8 would be glorious yes, just for the sound. Stroker pushrod 5.0 with flowmasters. If you know, you know.

My fuel economy will be atrocious enough with the 2.3L manual badlands, if they made a V8 with a stick Iā€™d be all over it.

Iā€˜ve got nothing but love and major respect for any modern V8 but youā€™re not going to see one in a Bronco Raptor because Ford is not going to put one In the F150 Raptor after putting the development into the 3.5L V6 Twin Turbo with Horsepower 450 hp @ 5000 rpm and Torque 510 lb-ft @ 3500 rpm.

Take some of the go fast parts from the Ford GTā€™s 3.5 parts bin and you're pushing into the 650 HP range.

The Bronco needs a V8. Not because it makes sense, but because people want it. If we wanted a rational car weā€™d all drive Ford Mavericks. We want ridiculous. Thatā€™s why we are buying an BRONCO.
