There just isn’t anything compelling or different enough in the FE to justify the price. Ford would have you believe otherwise.
I‘ll be converting my FE reservation to WildTrack or BadLands at order time.
I wonder how many others will also drop their FE reservation.

Anyone that's actually done some research into what the various options are(n't). There is zero reason to get a First Edition. You can get the exact same build on other trims while getting more options. It's like turning all the cash in your bank account into gift cards. Sure, it's worth the same, but you limit your options on where your money goes.

Here is what i came out with, check my math

$3345 for 4 door over a comparable BL

This is the closest thing i could configure
https://shop.ford.com/configure/bronco/config/accessories/Config[|Ford|Bronco|2021|1|1.|334A.E5D..NE..888.43L.47B.87E.RET.99P.64X.]
Had to add:
  • Top
  • Leather
  • Floor Liners
  • Storage Bag
  • 2.7
  • Lux
  • Squatch
But FE has:
  • $300 brush guard (can't get on BL with top )
  • $495 Headliner ( can't get on BL with top ),
BL = 58960 + 795 = $59,755
WT came out to $59,280 (sway-bar disconnect?)
OBX came out to $59,435 (-rock rails + body color painted flares and mirrors)
FE ($63,100)

Technically it has Power seats over the BL, but i couldn't establish a price for that.
For example, on OBX, to upgrade from cloth to leather+ power is the same price in WT to upgrade from cloth to leather+manual (wtf)

Just recapping + a couple additions

Only 7000 produced.
Only 5 exterior color choices.

Only 1 interior color choice.
Only $3500 more than a comparable Badlands or Wildtrak.
Only Bronco to have a FE badge.
Only Bronco to have FE decals.
Black Emblems
Black Badlands Grille
Option for black painted hard top if you are willing to wait.
Power Seats (compared to BL and WT)
Ability to get Top + Headliner + Brush Guard + 2.7L
Exclusive Lightning Blue
NO TOW PACKAGE OPTION

What will FE reservation holders get?

They will get their Bronco before the rest of us (maybe by a week or so as FEs will be built and shipped first).

Other than that, not much else.
well, a month or two. Not a week or two. 7000 is a month at least, with no issues at a launch start up.

At this point, if they don't open up interior options to change out the awful blue, I think I'd probably let my 1E go, and keep my badlands rez.

I'm not sure I can justify 4-5k to have one before the rest of y'all.

You can't quite get the exact same build. Even not considering cosmetic stuff. like paint and graphics

Badlands lacks the brush guard, headliner, and power seats
WT lacks the sway bar disconnect, and power seats
OBX lacks sway bar disconnect
Anything else doesn't offer Lux and then its not even apples to apples

To your point though. i am sure someone can find what they want in a lower trim for WAY less money.

Has got me leaning more towards a OBX +Squatch
Or just plain old BL no need to pay $2k for leather

Badlands can get power seats with the leather upgrade. The other two are cheaper aftermarket. To each their own of course.

The only meaningful unique thing about the First Edition - The price you are paying for it.

There would be future resale value potential if it had that special white and gray interior in the concept car. But it doesnt. It has the least favorite interior option, and one added color (that was added a later date just to appease people), and it's a color thats been around for years and its about to be discontinued. You could build a better interior on the other trims TODAY. What's going to happen in a couple years when you could mix and match colored flares, and get a full saddle interior? Future buyers will look at the First Edition as the redheaded stepchild to the model run.

The idea that the exterior and interior options were reduced on the FE is bonkers to me. They tell you it’s full loaded, and charge you $12,000 more than a WT but make you pay extra for wheel locks and door bags...nickel and dime

The FE is the only trim that comes with 8 beverage holders. (If that isn't special, I don't know what is. :)) Since beverage holders 7&8 are suspected to be in the fold-down center armrest, perhaps FE is the only trim with that armrest. (Giving FE a "unique" interior!)
