Oh, to close for comfort there. This is the reason I run my down a few times to the fuel light and see how much it takes to fill up. This way you know and range anxiety is lessened; you know how much is actually have left (or a good idea) and can act accordingly. Even if you know how much a bronco usually has, you don't know exactly how your specific vehicle was produced. Nothing is 100% the same, even on an assembly line, to many variables that are not worth engineering out.
Of course, having a jerry can on back helps the anxiety

It never gets below a quarter tank in my case. I never abuse the ones I love.lol
My F350 has 2.5 gallons of diesel left in the tank at 0 miles. By Bronco has .6 gallons of gas left at zero miles.Not my Bronco (since it hasn't arrived yet), but from my F350. The fun starts when you get to zero!

Isn't the fuel pump cooled by fuel,if so that could lead to premature failure.

No, I usually try to fill up between a quarter and a half tank. However on the Spark I tend to run it until it says "Lo" but I think that is still 20 or so miles on it, but that's because I don't think about the fuel too much in it as it has like 9 gallon tank. lol
