How many miles before your 1st windshield chip/crack

Is that a program unique to your dealership or some standard program that any dealer should know about and be able to sell? I'm familiar with the Ford extended warranty programs that are sold through dealerships - is this part of that or its own thing? Don't mean to pry just never heard of a program like this.

I have the AIG wind deflector and still got a chip at 2000 miles... small one on the left side, already fix it with glass welding by safelite

No issues here. Rarely does a bug even hit it. I do have the real deflector.

Just got my first last week. Almost made it a year and a half without one, 6,200 miles. Safelite filled it but it looks like crap.

Good reason to add the "windshield option" to whatever extended warranty

Just looked it up, it was provided by Safe Guard for $900 for 8 years. For me it made sense , my Bronco is covered under my fleet insurance that doesn’t cover glass due to the number of vehicles I have. If you have only a few vehicles it worth to get glass coverage on your auto policy.

I made it to around 16.5k miles with two small chips in the windshield and no other issues and then one morning last month I had a crack from the passenger side edge about 6-7 inches. Not connected to any chips, just a random crack. By the end of that week the crack was all the way across the windshield to mid-eye level driver side.

Luckily I have glass coverage with no deductible and it was an easy replace at safelite.

I mounted the Aeroskin II on day 1 and am convinced it creates enough vertical air pressure, at speed, that helps deflect incoming pebbles.

Am at 16500 miles and no chip (but U heard them!)
