Do you think Ford reads these posts?
Oh yeah... taking notes, passing along info to other department directors for training purposes, and probably saving some of these threads for comedic relief during the annual meetings. They'll probably post screen grabs and get a real kick out of the garbage produced on this forum.

Heck I come here more for the entertainment value anymore vs thinking I'll see any real helpful information.

My only issue with that is you're ordering a vehicle you haven't seen or driven in most cases. I agree with your point on it weeding out some people, however it's a large commitment for most people to put that money down and possibly be waiting until 2022.

Even if it was 100% refundable I'm not sure how well this would be received.
Would he like me to serve him some ice water in hell first?... 😁 ...

It was a joke.
Maybe we need to start using blue sarcasm font...

I ordered from Cam Clark Ford in Richmond, BC and $5,000 was what they asked me for downpayment so I paid it because I thought it was normal. Then I got home reading posts from people complaining about any amount of downpayment. @,@

I didn't read through all the posts in this thread yet - experience with my dealer at least - they're planning on keeping all orders that were converted from reservations without consent. On April 7th he claimed he "was still trying to track down 30 or so of them" that hadn't converted directly. Meaning they're just planning to sell them once they hit the lot. I even mentioned the "slap on the wrist" and reduced allocations...I dunno if he was just uninformed or what...but I have to hope that things work out. Surely hope this doesn't effect my build date and his higher ups set some sort of standards.

If Ford would enforce these higher deposits and cancel any that don't commit...this wouldn't be a problem.
