The Bronco is mass produced vehicle-they are making 8-10-12k units a month. The big issue is all the reservations, which basically accounted for a normal years worth of production. Then add in the higher end models that have been wrought with supply issues and the MIC top production problems with that demand. On the other hand 5 years from now, if Ford still has chip/hardtop issue, that would be odd (and Ford would be in a different kind of hurt). Also I don't think 5 years from now, we will still be seeing COVID restrictions as we do now (even though some in my community basically want masking and restrictions forever, ugh).
It will be interesting to see how things play out, and when Bronco will cross over to become a regular mass produced vehicle, which was (and I assume still is) Ford's intention.
I think we are still at least a year out before things "return to normal" supply wise and that is the best case scenario (I'm thinking maybe Summer 2023). I think we will still dealing with COVID related things till the US election in November.
Though it is very curious that outside of QE2 coming down with COVID, I haven't heard much at all about it...almost like its not an issue anymore.
