It's not going to score high because of inherit issues to the design...
But twice as good as a Wrangler? Sounds 'bout right 👍🏻

CR is right about the Bronco, but when you are buying a Bronco, you know what you are getting from the get-go, so can't be in shock and say OMG!
I hope that CR was not comparing the Bronco to a gas economy car, cause is not. is it a bit noisy? yes... I like what my Bronco can do, and how it does it. did not buy because it was all the things that CR said. how many new Land Rovers anyone seeing off-road??? that's right...

Nope...Consumer Reports analysis is totally flawed. Let's take the same list and use the following as data points to rank cars. Let's just compare, say, an Audi Q8 with a Bronco, and put them side by side using the following criteria.

1. Ride on an unpaved road.
2. Ability to drive over obstacles.
3. Driving ability in 2 feet of snow.
3. Reliability after completing the above 3 tasks.

My guess is the Bronco might rank higher? My point...apples to apples...

That is almost exactly what they are doing
I don't understand why they don't frame their comparisons so that it is compared to the Jeep. Like for the points based rating it makes sense to just present the numbers, but for all of the word salad talking about how it has more body roll than a Prius, no duh.

If they used the point system to say "Wrangler got x points in this category, slightly beating/losing to bronco" the information would actually be useful.

Jalponik quoting Consumer Reports?!?! I have a picture of what that looks like:

Ford Bronco CR ranks Bronco @ 46/100 on Lowest Ranked Cars list 29kZS13b3JrZmxvdw@@._V1_QL75_UY281_CR11,0,500,281_
Right on the money! I loved Jalopnik back in the day but after the last exodus it's just click-bait and fear-mongering. As for CR, it should be renamed the Average Consumer Report ... which for the average consumer a Bronco probably isn't the best choice if you're just wanting an appliance to get you back and forth to work and the car pool lane I guess it'll validate your CRV or RAV4 purchase.

Luckily for Ford most of us aren't average consumers and know the differences in what makes a Bronco isn't what makes an average SUV.

My general rule is the more CR hates a vehicle the more fun it is.
Plenty of fun vehicles didn't make the list. I really can't fault this list as not a single vehicle listed is surprising. Land Rovers, Jeeps, and Mercedes vehicles make for generally terrible ownership experiences unless you enjoy frequenting your local dealership while the Bronco and Jeep are niche off-road vehicles that come with compromises, manufactured by brands not known for high overall quality or reliability.

Consumer Reports is a "Hard LEFT" Mouth Piece.......Who CARES!
lol what are you on about?

They are well known for giving good reviews to any company that pays them, but that doesn’t equate to political bias.

Their opinions are usually BS, but just because you don’t agree with something doesn’t mean it’s out to get you. Chill out and keep this forum politics free.

I don't trust CR, but if we are being honest, Ford's quality sucks.
Yes, I keep telling myself that I should have gotten a Kia or Dodge instead... Not.

Ferrari didn't even make it on the list.
