I am in touch with the DFP writer previously recommended. She has responded and we are scheduling time to discuss today or tomorrow. If a few people can PM me a brief summary of their Situation, impact, and contact info, I can pass it along. She requested a few other contacts.
Meanwhile, I will be giving Ford and my dealer the benefit of the doubt that mine was done in error, and the ability to rectify. I will try contacting both today.
TWITTER TAGSEveryone getting shafted by their dealers should be lighting Ford up on social media. If you you're part of that group and don't have twitter, create one, tell your story, and put them on blast for the world to see.
Wow! Dealer processed my FE reservation last night without any build input from me. The only call I received was a rushed call to say order processing has opened. Up until this point, dealer communication has been nonexistent since the 7/14 confirmation email. I called the dealership back last night to tell them I am confused about how he processed the order with no build specs, He stated it was the build specs from my reservation on 7/14.
This was my post from yesterday, The follow-up call to Britany at Ford Customer Support/Marketing was great until she forwarded me to the Bronco Specialist. The Bronco Specialist stated the order has been placed. I asked how can an order be placed with no customer input. She just stated once it is placed as an order only the dealer can make changes to it. This includes changing to a different dealer. So, I am sad to say not much help from Ford Support/Marketing.
I assume, because it's numbered, it's essentially a burner account.
Ford is one of the largest companies in the world. It's very well possible that it could be his and that there were four other "M. Levines" that have worked for Ford since the dawn of email. Or maybe he does have multiple. Only he knows.I assume, because it's numbered, it's essentially a burner account.
Please don't blow this up with dumb complaints. Just leave it for the people that are trying to get this real situation dealt with.
afaik, none of those vetted dealers have done this.#confused For those who have agreements with, for lack of a better term, "vetted" dealers and their deals (SAC, Granger, Leonardtown, Kearny-Mesa) this first step "conversion" isn't an issue. The deal is known by both sides, the numbers are fixed. It is an issue for the folks that do not have that publicized deal. Is that not accurate?
Even beyond the general shadiness here, figuring out your build options after you get a build date doesn't make sense. Your build date depends on the options you select. This actually hurts Ford. If a lot of orders don't reflect the final build customer wants and have to be changed, it's going to wreak havoc with scheduling production.I did not agree on price, I was waiting for pricing before I placed my order so I could compare different dealers...they converted my reservation without my knowledge or consent, without any agreement on price or options. They said they will do that after I get my build date from Ford, and that they are looking at MSRP "right now"...but no other details.
That's an interesting point. We know that if your reservation is borderline 21/22 and you place an MY21 order that isn't filled, that order can be cancelled. An MY22 order can then be placed using your original reservation and timestamp. So if an order can be cancelled without wiping the reservation in that case, why not with these shady orders?Oddball thought. Is your dealer locked in if your vehicle is delayed and you have to re-order for 2022? I imagine that’s likely.
But if not, order a whole bunch of late delivery shit and hope for the best.
I would like to believe that. I don't disbelieve....but it isn't proven to me. I have seen instances of "Let's just get these into the system because we can change everything as we go" but I trust that dealer. Sorry, not going to say where. I hope you understand.afaik, none of those vetted dealers have done this.
the problem with the pre-order is if the buyer wants a totally different trim or item which pushes back to MY22.
at this point, the vetted dealers are reaching out to determine who wants to wait and who wants to be the guinea pig
