I asked a PA state trooper and they said it was ok if the vehicle was designed to be doorless like jeeps and Broncos.

If troopers give their nod I’d go with that, often enforce the most from what I see

Weather permitting I’ll take my doors off tomorrow and cruise 70 miles to Disney, OK. If I get pulled over it won’t be because of my doors.

I’m prepared for rain tonight though. FYI, Harbor Freight blue tarps blend well against Velocity Blue.

Some PA cops may use the law as a lawful reason to pull you over if they suspect you are drunk. Or maybe as an add on charge if you are a total buffoon.

At least once I'm tinted I can show up for annual inspection with no doors on and it'll pass inspection... the new inspections are supposed to have cameras built in to the machines to "watch" the inspector perform the inspection properly. Look I know there's a ton of non road-worthy cars out there, but some things are just a bit ridiculous.

Probably why the owner's manual states going door-less is for off-road only:

They certainly aren't gonna open themselves up to liability telling you to drive without your doors on the road ways.

I don’t know anyone that received a tint ticket. If you are a dick to a cop if you get pulled over, they will give you a tint ticket also.

I'm not sure I agree with that statement. I have been pulled over specifically for window tint both by local cops and state troopers and my windows aren't even that dark.

Believe it or not, it the Great Nanny State of NY, you CAN drive with the doors off.....but, you must have side mirrors....no problem in a Bronco but our friends in Jeeps?? Gotta mount a mirror.

However, with that said, I would feel safer if I had some tube doors to go on in place of the regular doors.

I see a ton of lifted pick ups with tires sticking out 3 or more inches from fender

Actually it can be legal, as long as you have your roof down/off.

at the end of the day, it all depends if the cop wants to be a d**k and enforce it or not.

The doors shall open and close securely unless the vehicle has been manufactured or modified to the extent that there is no roof or side. Tailgates, except on vehicles where the tailgate gives access to the passenger compartment, may be replaced with wood planking, nets or other material that will prevent loss of load. Tailgates may be removed when optional equipment, for example a truck camper, is added.
