I didn't track my actual work hours, but it took me 9 months to get it drivable. Then sent it out for paint and body work with some final details after that.
I worked on it most nights after work for a couple of hours and most weekends for several hours.

If my 12 yr old grandson is still in love with it in about 10 years, he may be the next owner.

I bought a bumper-to-bumper lifetime warranty on mine. It wasn't cheap (and I didn't even know those existed!), but I'm in this seat for the long haul.

I figure even if just the 12" screen goes out after the original warranty expires, it will have paid for itself.

Heck, even if nothing goes wrong, I still won't regret the peace of mind it gives me going forward long-term. Would hate to feel pressured to bail out of my 6G just for fear it might have an expensive repair right around the corner.

I built a Factory Five cobra a few years ago - it was such a fun build process. It will definitely be a forever car for me.
Nice. A FFR Cobra is a bucket list build for me. Keeping the Bronco... and after rebuilding this '66 factory GT about 10 years ago (also a bucket list find/build), it's another forever vehicle.

I’ll never get rid of it. Eventually, I’ll take the tires off and put it up on blocks out in front of my trailer to use as an anchor to tie my pit bulls to. I will of course decorate its surrounding space with plastic lawn flamingos.

Yes, to me the whole point is that I make it mine, and then rebuild a bunch of stuff when it hits high miles so I can justify upgrades

Others have already mentioned this, but for me it is 100% dependent on how long the manual transmission sticks around.

In the past I've keep my vehicles for ~20 years. BUT... I was living in Arizona, now I'm living in the salt plains of New England. I would be shocked if I can get 20 years out of it... 10-15 years is probably more realistic.

We all know the manuals will eventually go away, probably in the next 2 decades. If the manual happens to still be around in 8-10 years, I will probably buy another manual transmission Bronco around ~2032. If not... I guess I'm moving in with @AZ_Liberty to get out of the salt and humidity. Hopefully he has room in his garage.

I plan on keeping mine. I will be building mine the way I want over time which will evolve from a mild build as my wife and kids will drive it some and then when that ends I will build it out more. I will keep it until I can afford a good 73 or until they build a 2 Door Raptor.

Yep, but then again I keep my vehicles forever so this one will be no different. I always wanted a Gen 1 Bronco but the prices for restored were outrageous and the prices for basket cases were outrageous. When Ford created the current Bronco I was sold and my itch has been scratched.

Never heard of that. Who is that through?
I was offered thru my dealer (Korum Ford, Puyallup, WA).. would have to look at the paperwork to find who underwrites it.. but if I remember right, it was an offering the dealership put together themselves.

Hopefully it will last as long as my 99 Ford Explorer Sport, just sold her to make room for my Zippy; she looked impeccable and drove great, miss her she was a standard!
