Anyone know if it uses a dual mass flywheel? My R56 Mini (Getrag trans as well) did the same thing until I changed the TOB, clutch, and flywheel, but the TOB looked and felt fine. From my reading, those dual mass flywheels have a tendency to squeak and rattle after a certain point.
Probably, OEMs love the stupid things. I do SMF conversions whenever possible for the first clutch job.

Jumping in and following this one. Same thing. It's not just in neutral, just becomes harder to hear while driving but it's still there. It's been there since I got it. It's my only vehicle so trying to get it to the dealer is a major pain. Keep us posted as this sounds like it's a common issue/non-issue.

Haven't heard back from the dealer after they said they would contact Ford. Will let you know if I do.

Had my Bronco a couple months. 2000 miles. I have the 2.3 manual in my Badlands. When I start it up in the morning I hear what sounds like a grinding, somethings loose kind of noise. When I push the clutch in it seems to go away. It also seems to go away after it has been driven a while. Anyone else experiencing this? Is it normal? I have an appointment to bring the truck in tomorrow 1/12/22. I will let everyone know how I make out. Anyone else experiencing this?

UPDATE Well not really what I wanted to hear or satisfied with the explanation I got. Service manager said it could possibly be the throw out bearing. As the invoice states they have a call into Ford. They will call me when they hear from them. I picked up the truck as they said it was fine to drive. They also said it may be a break-in thing, which I know is not the case. It drives fine, shifts easy and clutch is easy to operate. Besides the noise no issues. I have to say until I hear from them again I’m hesitant to drive it. Luckily I’ll be out of town for a few days. Hopefully I’ll hear back before I get home.

Exactly the same issue on my BB Manual. Its worst during a cold start but it never really goes away. Note that it drives fine.
Its been 800 miles so I've discarded a break-in issue. I'm trying to get it serviced.

Correct. Mine is at 2200 and not any better. Let me know what your service comes up with. To me if it was a break in issue or normal, everyone would be experiencing it. From the answers here, some are and some aren't. Thats a problem.

That’s in neutral. Goes away once warmed up. I’ve been told it’s the lifters.

Any fix?

Same to ALL.
Goes away with clutch pushed in.
Rattle/chatter without the clutch engaged. can hear it in crawl or 1st gear loud, harder to hear in other gears. with pedal in its gone. its worse some times than others......

Do I really want anyone else in there doing it for (free) or do i do the job myself, and know its good?
Can a Focus RS clutch fit?
Is this SOB a dual mass?

I reached out to Ford Motor Company support and got a quick reply. Reina was very responsive and helpful. I will keep everyone posted as this moves forward.

"Thank you Raymond, for reaching out to Ford Motor Company with this concern. I will be escalating this case to a Customer Experience Specialist on the escalated SUV support team. They will contact you through your preferred contact method within a few business days to assist you. Your case number is CAS-35111735-X3Y7G2.

I've been having the exact same issue (big bend, 7-spd, 11,000 mi), sounds exactly like UTultimates video, only happens when cold in neutral sitting still, 1st gear, and 2nd gear

Also thought it was the throw-out bearing or dual mass flywheel as have had both go out in my truck (I don't fully understand it, but on the dual mass flywheel there are springs that cushion b/w the flywheels that get loose and rattle in their slots at low speed) - also not sure if this thing has a dual mass flywheel.

Took it to the dealer, we worked it up through Ford support, got the engineers on a conference call with the dealership, they said "yeah we think we've heard that noise before". We went and tracked down another manual that was being delivered, 10 miles on it, fired it up in the cold (35 degrees) and it made the same gurgling/garbling noise.

They wrote up my paper work, said nothing was wrong and gave it back to me. Absolutely love the thing, but going to sell it and wait for Ford to quite the transmission down. I'd never buy a used car that sounded like that.
