I have my kicker 200.4 wired directly to my battery with the fuse box in line. No power to the amp when I turn on the car. I am using a Hoel wiring harness. Either the harness is bad or there's a reason no power is getting to the amp. I've tried both DC and 12+ dip switch settings. Any ideas?

I have a Plug-N-Play kit, so it may be different. But if you use the DC, you need to press the radio detect button. I did that and it worked, but the radio detect feature makes an audible buzz sound.

I assume you have the remote line hooked up on the amp?

How do you have it all wired to positive and ground? Are any of the fuses missing or blown?

Hard to say without seeing it, but if you have voltage @ the amp, try jumping the turn-on lead to the 12v+ going in to the amp and see if that turns it on. If it does, your issue is with your source choice for the turn on lead. I don't know enough about how these are set up from the factory but if everything checks out wiring wise and you aren't getting a turn on signal, find something that is 12v switched and wire it to that. It will always have power when the vehicle is on but you won't kill the battery. Also check fuses etc since you've been fiddling around with it, just in case something blew.

Thanks for the replies all. Someone recommended that I may not have a good ground so I moved it and the amp powered on!

Speaking of which, do the PlugNplay wire harnesses provide a remote turn on? Is there a remote turn on somewhere, or you having to just power up with some random ignition wire or use the automatic signal sensor?

Holy hell is searched the internet for my latest kicker issue and found my own thread lol.

well today the sub didn’t have any sound after working for nearly two years. Sub has power, amp kicker key has power. If I fade sound to the rear completely the sound is barely heard on the rears. Again this was working today until 3pm after I parked it.

Ok never mind I took amp out and reseated everything. Pulled fuses and put back. Remounted. Works now. Very strange.

We’re gonna miss internet forums in the future man.

Ok so the sub issue is back. I am driving and it’s working fine. I stop somewhere turn the bronco off. Come back and no sub. It can’t be heas this is first thing in the am. I unplugged and plugged back in the sub. Reseated the ground. Before I retrace every cable, any ideas?

note the front speakers also powered by my amp work fine. The sub on that same channel and amp has the issue.

How exactly do you have your speakers wired to the amp? And are you using plug and play harnesses or did you run your own speaker wire?

Most folks aren't driving their sub from a 200.4 -- I mean, you could, but it wouldn't be any better than the OEM amp that way, and I don't think any of the plug and play adapters will do that without some sort of modification to them

It’s one of those plug and play harnesses. It goes to the oem head unit to the amp and all the way back to the sub. It’s a kicker hideaway 8inch. Worked beautifully until a few days ago. It started cutting out.

I just took the entire setup apart, checked all cables and fuses on the harness. All looks good. I redid the ground. The sub has power but no output of sound. The amp is powering the front dash and door speakers with no issue. I am stumped.

I can’t check the fuse on the amp because I can’t get it out. I don’t know if there’s a trick but i tried pulling out with pliers and still won’t come out.

Well folks. It was the sub. I bought a new 10" hideaway, and it works great. The 8" broke. Bummer only after two years of use.
