Well, the lesson we've learned here is a simple one.
NEVER buy prepaid service from a dealer when you purchase a vehicle. Many of them try to sell this to increase their profit. It's a great deal for the dealership. It's never a great deal for the buyer. I know depending on the dealership they may try to hard sell you claiming they can't or won't sell a vehicle without the prepaid service plan. That's when you get up and tell the finance guy, "Thanks for your time, but I'm not being pressured into buying something I don't want." Trust me, he's not going to let you walk out. I had to do this with my recent purchase (although over the phone) because of a "protection package" they add to every new vehicle - glass etching, windshield protection, converter etching. Of course he gave in when I told him I'd go elsewhere.
