My sales rep has been instructed to not install key fob until I decide it’s location.

My dealer said it’s sent to them with the vehicle and they install it or they can hand it to me to install.

I did the same on my Bison, the only difference is I installed mine using industrial Velcro, this way, I can remove it, when I park at the airport, or someplace I don't want someone messing with it.

Am I just slow...? I'm not really understanding the convenience

If you don't have keys the car can't start? Do you just lock the keys on the car?

I hunt and fish a lot, usually in pairs or groups of people. It is a huge convenience to be able to just text everyone the code and lock the keys in the vehicle right before we all go our separate ways into the woods. Never know who will need to go back to the truck for whatever reason, and leaving the keys in one of the wheel wells or in the gas cap definitely won't fool any practicing thieves...

First Mod was to move the keypad. Saw a video of keys that can get locked in back under security cover. Figured this would solve it. Second was to remove the door warning stickers and cover the VIN and tire labels to look cleaner with doors off.

I picked up my Bronc today (Overjoyed to say the least). I’m hesitant to just start pulling on the keypad. I twisted it a bit and the cover came off. Do I just keep going and hope for the best? Would it be easier if we heated it with a hair dryer? Is there any residue to clean off? Thanks for the help and the idea! LOVE our BRONCO

You can try cutting through the adhesive with some dental floss.

Mine just showed up at the dealer this afternoon. The keypad is on the door right above the handle, so I'll just leave it there. The dealer still needs to do a few things to it, so the purchase will happen on Monday. Three days short of a full year after placing the order.

Thanks, but Ford sells a locking plug for the fill port for security. It prevents thieves from stealing expensive fuel from the gas tank.

Hence, it will be my first modification....
