Hey Snacktime, love this pic of you taking your green Ford Flex off-road. Awesome! :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

I kid my friend here.

Geez, guess Iā€™m a gas guzzling geezer. Have no idea what my mpg has been for the 7K I now have on the clock. Know itā€™s not great with how heavy mine is, but I see guys using apps and whatever this math stuff is I see a few guys speak on is just over my head. šŸ¤Ŗ

Iā€™m not a fast driver in this brick since the brakes and MT hybrids make it slow to slow down, but guess itā€˜s smart to check.

Figured the OP was doing pretty normal on his stated mpg, so Iā€™m like him in asking how guys are getting 20mpg, but good for you guys who do.

I already responded, but I care about MPG because of fuel range, not my wallet. šŸ˜‚

MPG really depends on your driving scenario and habits. If you drive in an area with a lot of stop signs and traffic lights, you'll probably be in the 16-17 range. If you drive on roads where you don't have to stop and start often, you can easily see 19-21. When you get on the highway, it looks like 67-68 mph is the point where you will start to lose mpg if you go any higher. Most of my driving with the 2.7 auto Sas 35's and 4.7 gears is local on roads 25-45 mph with lights and stop signs. I get 17-18 mpg in these situations. When I get out in the open around 55-60 mph with no stops it will jump to 21-22 mpg. I run 87 octane and I'm sure 91 or 93 would be better but it costs almost $1.50 a gallon more so not really worth it. Now that we're getting into winter gas and cooler temps, the longer warm up/higher idle will take a hit to your mpg so you really need to track it all year to know what's really going on. The factory computer is optimistic and overestimates by .7-1.5 mpg so never go by the computer. My hand records show my average at 17.7 and the computer shows 18.2. But the Bronco is still one of the best 4x4 trucks for mpg I've had in the last 20 years. I had a 2013 Tacoma reg cab short bed 4 cyl 4x4 and it averaged 16 mpg over several years. My Silverado's averaged 12.5-14.5 so the Bronco beats them all easily. I think the guys saying they get 22-24 mpg have base trucks with the small tires and probably go off the computer estimate.

I knew I wasn't buying an economy car but I always watch my MPGs to make sure I'm getting what they said I'd get an to make sure a station didn't sell me a tank of bad fuel, If they do I don't go back if I can avoid it.

You profile says base but those aren't the base wheels. I have a big bend an it showed teens on the trip meter when I picked it up with a few miles on it. 2,500 miles an every tank has been over about 23, some close to 24. When I checked it by hand calculating I come up with .5 to .7 less than it shows. I drive very casually most of the time an don't go over 75 an rarely hit stop an go traffic or steep hills. Of course hard accelerating, steep hills, stop an go an pushing a brick though the air over 80 an a headwind will kill the mpgs. I got slightly better MPGs with premium too.

Hahahahaha!!! You guys are all getting way more than I am. Iā€™m getting 14.3mpg on my 2dr 2.3L Basesquatch with and FP tune, Whipple intercooler, and pedal commander. Oh, I drive it like itā€™s a sports car on the streets and send it every time I off road. Fill up my tank about 2-3 times every 10 days with 93 octaneā€¦.and I wouldnā€™t trade it in for anything in the world.

North Dakota does not like my fuel economy. But to be fair, this is pretty much a worse case scenario for MPGs.

Try turning the dial around the drivetrain buttons to see what modes you have. Also I would suggest double checking the speed with GPS to see if the speedometer was calibrated for those tires.

My 2.7L gets an average 18.5 MPG around town in Eco mode and 22 MPG on the highway. When my wife and I drove down to Mexico last November, we averaged around 24 MPG on long runs between stops.

I was just looking at the computer. When I bought it was reading 16.7 MPG
If they didn't recalibrate when then went from the Base 30" tires to those OBX 32" tires, you may be getting an extra 1 1/2 miles per gallon.

Seriously, Base, 2.7, 3.73's, 285/70R17's average 22.5.
Always use 89+ octane.
Straight hwy at 65 23+
15 mph head wind drops to 20.
15 mph tail wind jumps to 24.
