This. For a lot of people, this will be their first turbo’ed vehicle. Easy on the throttle, MGP will be great, but get into the boost and one can about watch the gas gauge move. It’s not that bad but running the R’s up, under load will eat fuel.

Only 87 but they do prefer premium. I was running my Ranger with 87 for a while then switched to 91 and it runs so much better and the mpg went up a little too. Once I tuned it with a 91-93 Livernois performance tune it went up about 1-2 mpg. Also have a 2.5" RC level with 265/70/17 Nitto Ridge Grapplers. Of course the more you're into the boost the worse it gets...It's either Eco or Boost, you can't have both. ?

Check each of the vehicle specs again , as you are thinking GVW not unladen Weight......the GVW of a 2021 F-150 goes from 6,100 to just over 7,000 lbs. the GVW of a Bronco is under 6,000 lbs, but taking in its 1,370 lb load capacity, puts it in the low to upper 4,000 lb unladen weight area
Bronco Estimated base curb weights (lbs.)*
2.3L EcoBoost® (Manual/Automatic) 4319/4339 - 4957/4977 4499/4509 - 4997/5226
2.7L EcoBoost® 4491 - 5129 4661 - 5320
*Weights are projected and given as a range from base - full content

Yes, GVWR is the total maximum rated weight of vehicle plus passengers plus cargo. Most of us don’t do our daily driving of a vehicle at the GVWR, unless you are car pooling with 275lb passengers.

Still has the aerodynamics of a brick. Large heavy tires.

Match F150 or Ranger if we're lucky.
Good thing it comes with an 18 gallon tank. So if it averages 22 mpg that comes to 396 miles on one tank. That will work for your day trip.

With the way I drive I assume it'll be less than 20 mpg, probably more like 17 though lol

MPG has not been a consideration at all honestly. It is what it is, I'm not expecting Escape mileage.

whats the gear ratio in the 150 ?

the base vehicle here is 3.73 and goes up to 4.7 in a squatch/wildtrak

2.3 or 2.7 and gear ratio/tire size all comes into play

id like to see some mpg numbers posted for base and wildtrak, then interpolate the in betweens
Can't remember what base is but mine was 3:55.

My first 1978 Bronco with 351M got 9 MPG on 31s. I told everyone it passes everything but gas stations. My 1970 with 3 speed on 33s got the same. Don't know with the ZF (too new). I didn't buy them for gas mileage. Not a consideration for the new one.

My 2018 Explorer gets 17MPG so I would welcome 22/26. Hope you're right.
If you aren't heavy on the pedal all the time it's very doable. But it's really hard to not get on it with that 2.7.
