If you aren't heavy on the pedal all the time it's very doable. But it's really hard to not get on it with that 2.7.
Thatā€™s like my current DD, a 2013 Honda Pilot 4WD. In light city traffic, I get the advertised 17 mpg, in heavy stop and go city traffic, itā€™s more like 14 mpg and on the highway if I am easy on the speed (68 mph) w/light acceleration, I have gotten 26 mpg, but my more natural aggressive driving style at 75 mph gets me 22 mpg. I figure the 2.7 w/turbos will have a similar behavior

My ā€˜17 f150 supercrew, 3.5EB, 10speed, 3.55 gears, 35ā€ MT tires & 6ā€ lift averages 18.1mpg mixed out here in CO Highway speeds between 70-75mph and I get 600+ miles per tank when not towing.

My truck weighs exactly 5700lbs and I project the 4dr Bronco weā€™ll order will come in around 5300lbs.

Surely the 4dr Bronco, 2.7 that isnt sitting as high as my truck will get 20mpg.

I got 17 mpg combined with my 5.0L F-150, so I'm hoping to get at least 20 mpg from a stock Badlands.
I'm getting 16.5, currently in my 2011.

18 would be good. 20 would be great. More than that and I would be ecstatic.

Iā€™m currently driving a hybrid that gets 50 mpg in heavy traffic. Bracing myself for the mpg shock. ? But I knew this vehicle wouldnā€™t get great mileage and it will only be driven a couple of times per week. Bronco will be my fun vehicle, not my practical vehicle.

35's and 4.7 rear? Yeah, 15/18 unless you drive it on eggshells. It's not an eco friendly vehicle - it's a BRONCO. On my F150s and my JEEP Rubicons - 15, 15, 15 ... well that's the rest of the story. At least it will be better than the days of the V8's mileage wise, but not as much fun. ;)

True, but the hydrodynamics of a lobster and their ability to generate lift when swimming is an engineering marvel.
Hydrodynamics of a lobster, have nothing on the airspeed velocities of Swallows, be it African or European.

Do the spare tire delete, that'll get you 2MPG and don't F with the air dam underneath the front.

I have been tossing this exact question around. With $4 gas on the horizon, my current plans are to ditch the Sasquatch and keep the 2.3. My Badlands will be way more than adequate for what I need.
I'm afraid gas will be more like $6.00 or $7.00 a gallon within 2 or 3 years? Good idea to stay with the 2.3 and small tires. It's going to be expensive to enjoy our rigs. It'll be a damn shame to go from low fuel prices and energy independence to high prices and foreign oil dependance.

It's not a done deal just yet.

And technically speaking, bumble bees are not supposed to be able the sustain flight.
Is it intelligent design, or evolution? Inquiring minds want to know.
