Speaking from experience I averaged 22/26 in my 4x4 F-150 with the 2.7. No reason the Bronco shouldn't do that or better. In contrast my past Wrangler and current Grand Cherokee with the 3.6 Pentastar slug I'm lucky to get 18/21.
My 2018 Explorer gets 17MPG so I would welcome 22/26. Hope you're right.

I have been tossing this exact question around. With $4 gas on the horizon, my current plans are to ditch the Sasquatch and keep the 2.3. My Badlands will be way more than adequate for what I need.

isnt the weight so high on the bronco that going to a lower engine might actually increase milage?

its why the wrangler sucks so much , underpowered

I'm thinking if you drive it really nice, you might average 18.

nice isnt 18mpg in my book yikes

Yeah, I learned a long time ago to just put more gas in when it starts to get empty and don't worry about the mileage. I enjoy things more that way.

Did your F-150 have the 10 speed transmission?

I was excited about getting a bronco but if we end up going back to 5 dollar gas i might have to forget about it. As cool as the bronco is , paying that much to drive it around is not.

How much MPG are we going to get out of this vehicle? is it going to be basically exactly the same as the wrangler despite better engines? Or is it going to be significantly better (20mpg city)
I drove a 2019 Ranger with a 2.3. The sticker said I was not suppose to get better than 24 MPG and yet I got a little over 25 MPG when I drove the speed limits mostly on the freeways around Denver. The Bronco is heavier and will probably have bigger tires or engine. But I don't think it will be a deal breaker.

Don’t even think about MPG. You will not like the outcome. Sasquatch any trim and engine and expect 18 MPG. Get anything better then it’s a bonus to you.

Published numbers when they come out will be on a base with the smallest tires Ford offers on a Bronco. Don’t be surprised when your BL (and bigger tires than base model) doesn’t achieve the advertised MPG.
If filling up the 20 gallon tank is going to be an issue then do not get the 2021 model and wait to see how bad it is.

I get 16mpg for the last 7 years on my DD. I got over long ago about being concerned for the MPG. It cost me $13 a day on $3 gallon gas just to drive to work. And I love the ride.

And technically speaking, bumble bees are not supposed to be able the sustain flight.
Mostly because those models underestimate the efficiency and energy consumption of their flight muscles and the figure of eight pattern they cycle through to hover and loiter.

Well the Bronco is going to replace my 2000 F-250 on 35's with a 5.4 and 4.10's in it as my days off and weekend funmobile so not too worried about mileage. It has to be better than 10-12 mpg, and with the 30 gallon tank anything over 3 currently makes me frown at the pump .
