Only reason to be concerned about MPG is range. This thread reminds me of the old adage "if you have to ask the price, you can't afford it"...
I completely agree. A 17 gallon tank getting 15mpg on the 2.7 squatch = ~250 miles of range. That's pretty awful and can't be true.

I think it has to get closer to 20mpg = ~350 miles of range to even be semi-respectable.

I really don't understand why there isn't a larger tank. Maybe this thing will get 30mpg and range concerns will be obsolete.

Sweet Jesus you must have won the Jeep lottery to pull those kind of numbers!!

Seriously, I'm in awe...

Unless I drive like a asshole or the 5 speed auto in the JKs aren't enough but I've only cracked 20mpg one time in my 3.6L JK, and that was a scenic 300 mile trip through mostly rural highways going 50-60. The rest of the time its 12 in the winter 15 in the summer, that is about 90% around town miles though.

Never sell that Jeep, you have the great white Buffalo. Toledo must have been on their A game that day.
I was quite surprised too Andy. It's stock w/ the 3:45's, and the 8 speed auto. I just drove down to Myrtle Beach, approx. 170 miles, and it brought in 24.2 mpgs. Lot of headwinds. I've driven approx. another 200 miles while here and the thing is still averaging over 21. Mind you as I've matured (re: old) I don't do a lot of burn outs from the stop lights anymore. :)

Your JL also has 3.45 gears. The lowest available gearset in a Bronco is 3.73. That will affect the mileage.
True James. My '13 F-150 with the 5.0L, and 3:35's actually got better mpg's than my '11 F-150 with the 3.7L, and 3:73's. It took a lot of petrol to get that big Crew Cab off the line with the 3.7L I guess.

True, but the hydrodynamics of a lobster and their ability to generate lift when swimming is an engineering marvel.
You are correct however the lobster,
Like the F150 is much larger than the Louisiana Crawfish Bronco! I foresee large gains from weight and pure beauty as it slips down the road. ?

If the average MPGs aren't at least 20 I may have to step away from the Bronco. It's not so much the MPGs but the baby fuel tank on the 2 door. I'm guessing it will be 22 average.

One thing I noticed on the 4 cyl when I had a loaner Exploder, it was almost always spooling the turbo...I will not be surprised to see the v6 get better in real world.

I can get over 18 in my Raptor, I can also average about 6 mpg....the 6 mpg is WAY MORE FUN!

As long as it's better than my F-350, I'm ok with whatever the number is.

I get 22 on the highway in a 2015 JKU with 3.73's. The biggest gain was when I did the spare tire delete, I also have a TrekTop NX with the angled back, stock tires with 36 psi.

No doubt with the sloped back windshield and grill of the JL, plus the new tranny you get really good mileage. I think the 3.6 likes to live at a little higher RPMS with the 3.45's too.

I'm guessing the Bronco will be somewhere between the JK and JL.

With my planned aero mods and hypermiling driving technique I'm expecting an awesome 23mpg ; )

Just give me 20mpg @70mph on the Basesquatch and I’ll be happy. Then again I don’t really care. Smiles per gallon...until I’m at the pump in 10 years and gas is 7 $/gal ?

Just wondering what the difference in gas mileage would be with a 4.7 axle ratio versus a 4.46 axle ratio - with a manual tranny and doing mostly highway driving.

The 5.0's get better mpg than almost anything else in the 150's in real life.
